The excuse now given by the Obama administration of "we didn't know the ambassador was killed" and thought it was ONLY a staff member really sucks! I guess it is irrelevant if an American is killed unless that American holds a prestigious position.

This is what we get from a President who spit on the Constitution and his oath of office to engage in war against the government of Libya without required Congressional authorization.

Uhhh...no. The Press Release states that the United States apologizes for the "continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims". The title of the OP is "Obama Apologizes to Terrorists for Our First Amendment Rights". A more appropriate title would be "Obama Apologizes to Muslims"

The first fix-it of the Obama administration was the explanation I gave, that they did not know the ambassador was killed, rather only a staff member.

If they are in an area as unstable as they are, and there ware attacks occurring and a simple press release could ease tensions, of course they would. Perhaps they didn't think about the fact that some cowardly conservatives would use it as an attack.

This never would have happened had Obama not unilaterally decided to go to war against Libya without Congressional approval as required by the consitution. Obama violating his oath of office to engage in war against another country and government is what is responsible.

But they're very quickly going to become irrelevant after this next election when the GOP realizes that the middle road is the only path back to power.

Romney's ginning up the base has cost him the election. That and lack of any real policy solutions.

The 'apology' was issued by the American Embassy in Cairo, before the attacks occurred in Cairo and in Benghazi.

The statement was issued before the attacks on the compound, but given the subsequent attack — and the interpretation that the statement was somehow apologizing for free speech — the Obama administration itself took issue with it.

What makes the deaths all the more tragic is that they will inevitably become politicized. On Tuesday, conservative websites were highly critical of a statement by the U.S. Embassy in Cairo that came ahead of a protest where demonstrators breached the embassy's walls in a moment reminiscent of 1979 in Iran. Liz Cheney and the Republican-controlled House Foreign Affairs Committee joined in, accusing the administration of issuing an "apology" for a bizarre and mysterious film attacking the Prophet Mohammed that served as a pretext for the protests. And the Romney campaign issued its own statement. Wednesday will likely bring more finger-pointing.

For me, the embassy assaults are a sobering reminder not only of the deep anger and dysfunction that plagues the broader Middle East, but of the enormous difficulty the United States has in dealing with this part of the world. The level of distrust and fury toward America is not the sort of thing you heal with a speech or two. And to make matters worse, there will always be groups that exploit things that have no connection whatsoever to U.S. government policy, like this anti-Islamic film.

That is exactly what he did in ordering military air attacks against Libya government forces and for the specific goal of defeating the Libya government. Now Obama's Libyan insurgents have attacked and killed Americans in an act of war against us. Obama personally empowered our enemy to successfully attack us.

We shouldn't apologize for free speech!!!! Free speech gives us the freedom to citicize others, and even insult them. Is it smart? Is it friendly? No, but it is our way. I would never curb YOUR right to insult me, not would I ever curb YOUR right to criticize me. Freedom is just a punchline for liberals. The only true freedom they believe in is the freedom to kill a baby in the womb. That's it.

Look at all that's going on under this president. Authorizing the CIA and FBI to spy on any and all Americans with drones designed like flies, seizing authority to detain and even kill any American citizen they choose without warrants if they believe that person to be a threat to national security, face recognition software being set up everywhere to spy on every American citizen if it so chooses. Where are liberals on those issues????? Remember how much fuss they made over the Patriot Act, and how it violated privacy????

The hypocrisy has grown to Kilamanjaro levels on the left. They don't believe in freedom, they believe in power and winning. They bury their heads in the sand when it's Obama doing it to them, and they scream their heads off when it's a Republican doing it. America better wake up and realize that it doesn't matter if it's Obama, or Romney doing this sort of stuff. It's diminishing our liberties, and that comes with a heavy price tag.

I am learning the more hardcore partisan Democrat a person is, often the more bigoted they are in real terms, not backassward Democratic bigoted political correctness. A bigot is a person who sees everyone in racial and ethnic terms as you do in your analysis.
