No matter how much the right bash's the President seems to thrive and survive.

In 2008, many people were tired of Bush, tired of war, and believed the BS the media spewed. They voted for Obama for many reasons, one of the least relevant being the belief he might actually be a competent president. Now that he has proven himself incompetent, it means little because that grounds was not a major factor in his election.

Additionally, many of those who thought Obama's coronation would elevate them out of the basement of loserdom now realize they are still losers, yet they continue to support Obama figuring he will punish the winners while Romney will not. In other words, they now realize they will be stuck in their current state no matter who is in office but they don't want the winners to have someone who supports the successful in office

I agree with everything you said, and I would add that sadly the left cannot stomach the thought of the first black president being a loser. Their racism in intertwined in everything they do.

the other thing is that this time obama has a record to defend, last time he was an unknown who was a great speech reader. He is no longer an unknown quantity.

Agreed. But it speaks volumes of the job he's done that one of the most charismatic presidents we've had in a long time has such low poll numbers.

I never said that but I think backward thinking and fighting change the way conservatives do makes them look stupid at times. Their unyeilding stance on gay rights,legalizing marujuana and a womans right to chose makes them look old fashion and anti freedom. It is human nature to fight change on social issues but intellegence should trump human nature. The war on drugs is lost, Roe vs Wade is the law of the land and gay rights will happen no matter how loud the social conservatives scream. When will the GOP be as pragmatic on social issues as they are on fiscal issues?

That's incorrect. Take a look at the statistics during the next election. College educated tend to indicate they are more liberal. Why do you think that right-wingers always decry the "liberal universities"?

what you are missing is that they are expressing their beliefs, whether it is religion based or just wha they believe. No one is wanting to deny rights to gays or anyone else, gay marriage is not a RIGHT, the majority of americans think abortion is murder, why do they not have the right to vote their beliefs?

As to pot, if you want to destroy your body with it, I could not care less, legaiize the crap and let smokers ruin their lungs and hearts. But put a big tax on it so we can raise the money for your end of life hospital care at an early age.

How do you argue that a married couple who didn't owe federal income tax in 2009 / 2010 because of the stimulus bill's married tax credit deductions is 'suckling from the public teat'? Many, many people who work jobs, pay their bills and are struggling to get by are included in that 50% statistic. They don't use food stamps or any type of welfare. They get health insurance through work and pay 20% of their monthly premiums.

They pay their state taxes, property taxes, sales tax, utilities tax, hotel tax (when they go on vacation)....

IMO - That misleading statistic only works as a talking point to gin up the part of the GOP base that believes only urban blacks are on welfare.

If Palin was such a joke and weak candidate why did the media and the dems spend so much effort looking into her kids lives and trying to destroy her and her family? Why did the party of NOW try to destroy a woman with lies and innuendo?

I never liked her either, but thats not the point. A woman was crushed by the party the preaches women's rights. I call it hypocrisy, what do you call it?
 
It's way too early to write Romney off as having lost the election. At this point, it's still a tossup.

And, the election isn't really a "right wing" vs. "left wing" sort of issue. It may be a Democrat vs. Republican one, but it is really a stretch to call Romney a right winger.

As for the right wing bashing the president, they've made so many absurd statements that only the party faithful is listening any more:

Obama is a Marxist from Kenya, he's soft on defense and will "cut and run" from Iraq, he's a socialist, he hates America, he bows to foreign dictators, he doesn't think business owners built their businesses, he can't speak without a teleprompter, he's personally responsible for that overwhelming debt... who listens to stuff like that?

It's time to change the president. There is a slim chance that Romney will be able to at least begin to turn the economy around and make some start to getting us on a sound fiscal footing. That's the reason to vote for Romney. The over the top rhetoric is just not convincing.

Conservatives are winning the debate in fiscal issues bot losing big time on social issues and until the GOP learns to be as pragmatic on social issues as they are on fiscal issues then they are going to have problems. I think if the GOP adopted some of the views of the libertarian side of the party and stoped trying to legislate morality on social issues then their appeal would be far greater. Their is no reason pot should not be legal along with gay marriage and prostitution. All these things would generate revenue and would be wise and pragmatic like the Dutch. The Dutch are not liberals but they are very pragmatic and so ahould the GOP.

Pathetic revision of history. She hid for 10 days after the conventions. Well, the McCain team kept her under wraps because they were realizing she knew nothing.

So the media asked, when do we get an interview?

Interview #1 - confused about Bush doctrine, foreign policy experience = Alaska's proximity to Russia.

Interview #2 - can't name one supreme court case, can't name one magazine she reads to get informed. Couldn't articulate economic crisis.

Left wing and right wing pundits began attacking her at that point. MSM reported what she said and most reasonable people were asking WTF, John?

MSM treated her family respectfully. Can you prove otherwise? Show us where Anderson Cooper tried to destroy her family....

Palin continued to make statements that were demonstrably false. Media tried to correct her and she would double down. This has continued to this day.

Nobody dies from smoking pot. I have been smoking since 1976 and have never seen or heard of anyone dieing from it except people getting killed in Mexico.

Do you know what i saw at the RNC? It was those evil teleprompters. Please, the republicans use speach writers and teleprompters as much as any democrat. The only person who says he did not use a teleprompter was Clint Eastwood, and we all know how that looked. Oh, and that you did not build that only looks insane when you take it completely out of context like the right has done. To cover their lie they even have some of their pundits trying to claim it was a retake that was staged despite multiple witnesses at the event who know that is an outright lie.

The reality is that in interviews where a teleprompter was not used mitt sticks his foot in his mouth, and Ryan has an anger problem that causes him to go more bat**** insane. During the debates we will see the unscripted romney and ryan, and that should be their downfall to everyone but the romtards.

Since I grew up watching Chevy Chase do Ford, Dan Aykroyd do Carter, Nixon... SNL has been doing that for a long time to all candidates and Presidents.

If you think SNL goes easy on liberal candidates, go back and watch Darrell Hammond's Clinton sketches during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

Reason that Obama is on top of most polls, Romney keeps switching positions on issues. They've been caught lying. They think they're back in the days when they could tell one group one thing, and another group another and nobody would find out, however, we have Facebook, Twitter and the news aren't letting them get away with it. Ryan has been caught lying so many times, even Republicans are beginning to question his credibility.
