Obama fell flat

When, in his DNC speech, the president accused Mitt Romney of wanting to hand over Social Security to Wall Street, while it’s true that the Romney campaign has denied this agenda currently, the fact is both Romney and Paul Ryan supported privatizing Social Security in the past. <snip> Fact checking - Salon.com

What the speaker SHOULD have said was that Romney was for turning Social Security over to Wall Street before he was against it.

Is it me or is Mitt Romney a John Kerry Flip-Flop clone? For it, against it, for it, against it, what day is it again? LOL!

What would Jesus do?

Well if Jesus really exists and if he really is God, I don't think Romney would be the first person he'd damn. I am pro choice but then again I am agnostic. If you believe in God and believe he exists, I suspect the abortion advocates are going to merit his wrath far above a guy who has given millions to his church

You lost me at Salon.com Do you have anything credible? Again, it is a straw man, Obama loves using that tactic.

Obviously you didn't listen to the speech. Obama gave all the credit to the American people when he said this int he speech

" You're the reason there's a little girl with a heart
disorder in Phoenix who'll get the surgery she needs because an
insurance company can't limit her coverage.
You did that.
(APPLAUSE)
You're the reason a young man in Colorado who never thought
he'd be able to afford his dream of earning a medical degree is
about to get that chance.
You made that possible.
(APPLAUSE)
You're the reason a young immigrant who grew up here and
went to school here and pledged allegiance to our flag will no
longer be deported from the only country she's ever called home,
(APPLAUSE)
why selfless soldiers won't be kicked out of the military
because of who they are or who they love; why thousands of
families have finally been able to say to the loved ones who
served us so bravely: ``Welcome home, welcome home.''

You did that. You did that."

He was trying to shift nlame from himself to the American people.u

It was pretty flat, seemed like it was half a rehash of broken 2008 promises and the other half was attacks on Romney, empty platitudes, tax the rich and strawman arguments.

Clinton saved his bacon.

Wow, you must have turned of the TV on the Republicans each night shortly after commencement.

But is it not that self entitled, vilifying attitude that the media loves in the Republicans? Just think about it, without their antics cable news would go broke.

You're right, I was sick in bed last night. I was commenting on what I've heard from him before. Apparently he's received (and heard) some criticism about his "I" approach. It's about time.
Its kinda funny that you came on this thread spouting off just another talking point. At least you admitted that you had no clue what you were talking about. I'll give you credit for that.

Barack Obama was flat.
A surprisingly long parade of Democrats and media commentators who didn’t think much of the speech described it less as a failure than a fizzle—an oddly missed opportunity to frame his presidency or the nation’s choice in a fresh or inspirational light.

That was the plan.

Why Obama Went Low Key in His Democratic Convention Speech - The Daily Beast

While the pundits are generally calling the president’s Thursday night address mediocre, Obama and his advisers had taken great pains to avoid soaring rhetoric that might have been derided as empty.

Indeed, they extensively tested the president’s speech in dial groups, a type of focus group where voters twist dials to register approval or disapproval of specific passages, and say it tested off the charts. The reaction, they say, was more positive than to Obama’s 2008 acceptance speech in Denver.

In short, the president deliberately dialed it down, stopping well short of the altitudes he is capable of reaching. Perhaps that will prove to be a mistake, but the decision to go with a less rousing approach was carefully considered.

I have to agree that Obama's speech was more emotional than substantive. He used the word "unions", but of course nothing followed from that so I expect nothing on that front. Kerry's speech was much better and if the Democrats get a backbone, I think the Republicans will get a run for their money; but I doubt that the Dems will show any granolas at all as usual. The corps and banks have whitewashed both sides of the isle, so it really don't matter . . .

Bill Clinton's speech was the best one, and he knows what he's talking about, but of course he's not running.

These are all from the 100% in the tank for Obama Liberals. The only people who believe Obama made a good speech were the MSNBC cult types who still believe he has a halo around his head.

It's not a halo: he's just better than any Republican.

Bill Clinton gave a good speech..... But...........
That crooked finger.
I felt like I was getting scolded again in grammar school.
