Disillusioned Obama Supporter In Romney Ad Is Actually GOP Staffer

Incredibly the RNC says this ad is not dishonest

Disillusioned Obama Supporter In Romney Ad Is Actually GOP Staffer | TPM2012

Republicans debuted a new ad Thursday in which a frustrated former Obama supporter expresses her disappointment with the president. The only problem: The woman in the video is actually an RNC staffer.

The new ad features Republican National Committee Director of Hispanic Outreach Bettina Inclan, who in the ad purports to be an average woman voter who supported Obama in 2008. She describes her disillusionment with the president in the ad as a romantic relationship gone awry.

“You’re just not he person I thought you were,” Inclan says in the ad, addressing a cardboard cutout of Obama. Inclan lists out-of-control spending and Obama’s penchant for hanging out with Hollywood celebrities as reasons for the break-up. “It’s not me, it’s you. I think we should just be friends.”

The ad asks people to share why they’re “breaking up” with Obama.

The RNC says its ad, which first appeared on television Thursday is not dishonest.

“It’s a lighthearted ad to show how millions of Americans feel about President Obama — he’s not the person we thought he was and it’s time to break up with him,” an RNC official told TPM. “But let’s be clear, it is an ad.”

Boy, republicans sure like talking to empty chairs and cardboard cutouts. Kinda weird, if you ask me. Are they all senile?

There is absolutely no contradiction whatsoever. If an Obama supporter becomes "disillusioned" with Obama and so goes to work on the Romney campaign there is no dishonesty whatsoever. The only relevant fact question is whether she previously had been an Obama supporter. To prove the ad false, Democrats would have to prove she was never an Obama supporter.

Thank for dragging an already bad thread down even further.

And that was proven. She was no Obama supporter.

Hey libs. She never really dated Obama either. Much less a cardboard one.

It is more as a parody. It is not, and makes no claim to be, a testimonial.

That said, the most effective ads, by survey, have been those that were true testimonials. To choose even one commercial with a humorous approach is a waste of money.

Hey Cons,

this commercial isn't about a romantic involvement but it was meant as a political sneer towards Obama.

Well no **** !! But libs are first pretending it is a testimonial, which you seem to have figured out it is not ! Its absurd, like the rest of all things Democrat this season.

This ad is a prime example of the fraud that the GOP is engaged in.

Wait for October - it will be much much worse and the new Romney onslaught - especially by his allies - will make the 2004 swift boat nonsense look like a Little Sisters of the Poor Sunday picnic for orphans.

Let me admit first that I didn't know who Betinna Inclan, the RNC Director of Hispanic Outreach, was until now. But this doesn't mean that lots of folks more attentive than I didn't instantly recognize her and find the spot hilarious.

I think it's funny too. There's no "fraud" being perpetrated here.

Here's a different POV:
AFP: New Romney ad has woman 'break up' with Obama

While looking for a vid clip of the RNC, I found this on YouTube and posted a year ago:

Perhaps there should be some faux-outrage that the RNC commercial is "plagiarizing"/recycling the concept.

This isn't any more dishonest than anything else that Romney has run on.

And this isn't some partisan spin. Remember when Romney was running in the primaries? He wasn't very honest then either. The etch-a-sketch thing is a GOP talking point.

This is a pretty big problem that should worry everyone. What is Romney going to do if he's elected? Sure he'll try to cut taxes, but does anyone think that he has the intestinal fortitude to cut spending as well? If you elect Romney and he does what Bush did, then the Republican party is dead.

And that should scare every Republican and moderate Democrats. Without a rational alternative, there won't be anything to check stop the country from a long leftward swing.

I'm willing to give anybody but Obama a chance. He's had his.

and Sandra Fluke was just a "college student"...lol

arent all actors big Libbos?

Yes, and I think you should stop watching all of them. Except for Clint Eastwood and Chuck Norris. Ditto for music. Hank Williams Junior and Ted Nugent are good for you. The rest I'd stay away from, especially those libbos like Foo Fighters and Springsteen. They'll rot your mind. Hank Jr., recently referred to as a 'racist old coot', is a definite plus, however.

I'm willing to give anybody but Obama a chance. He's had his.

So you're buying the Romney message, which is accurately described by Bill Clinton as:

We made a big mess. Obama hasn't cleaned it up fast enough. Put us back in.

Great message.

Democrats are voting for a continued gumbit teat. Peel away the rhetoric, and its all they ever vote for. One party has to be the safety net for the losers amongst us.

Great message.

Yeah. If one believes in fairy tales.

What I said was that I am willing to give anybody but Obama a chance.
