Dems boo adding God and Jeruselum

Re: Does it sound like the Ayes had it to you?

OK I stand corrected. Sorry about that

No problem. Its the problem with this forum sometimes, people just take sides without actually doing their due diligence. I am guilty of it as well at times.

It can hinder actual debate when people just retreat to their corner.

Ok I will shut up and get off my soapbox now.

"A National Disgrace" - Clint Eastwood

Dems just recently mocked God with their comments implying God hated Republicans when he allowed the hurricane to shut down Tampa for a day. Apparently what goes around, comes around. In both cases they demonstrated their hypocrisy.

No they booed adding it the platform, big difference.

Big difference to you, no difference to God.

Matthew 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

There's a difference between denying the existence of God and wanting to have a secular platform, I support a secular government as our Founders intended.

You're living in denial

Democrats just booed God on National Television.

Did the conservatives do what Debra claims at the RNC convention or on national TV?

Apparently some of the Democrats are too chicken to stand up for what they really believe. The boo's you hear are people who are tired of including fairy tales and excessive subservience to Israel, good for them, too bad those in charge didn't have the spine to see it through.

Our Documents - President George Washington's First Inaugural Speech (1789)

At Federal Hall, Vice President John Adams, the Senate, and the House of Representatives awaited the President’s arrival in the Senate Chamber. After being received by Congress, Washington stepped from the chamber onto the balcony, where he was followed by the Senators and Representatives. Before the assembled crowd of spectators, Robert Livingston, Chancellor of the State of New York, administered the oath of office prescribed by the Constitution: “I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will, to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.” After repeating this oath, Washington kissed the Bible held for him by the Chancellor, who called out, “Long live George Washington, President of the United States,” and a salvo of 13 cannons was discharged. Except for taking the oath, the law required no further inaugural ceremonies. But, upon reentering the Senate Chamber, the President read the address that is featured here. After this address, he and the members of Congress proceeded to St. Paul’s Church for divine service.
Good for you, do as our Founders did.

If those people are truly sick of fairy tales then why are they still supporting Obama?

This may be because they hope to win the election.

Sadly some politicians still have to pretend they are Christian to get into office.

I think it's was ridiculous that he fished for a response until he got the one he wanted. In fact - if I were a democrat - I'd be horridly offended. . . maybe they shouldn't audio votes in

Dissapointed that they kept God in it.

1 steps forward, 2 steps back.

Not to worry, someone will alter the tape to silence the nay's so you hardly hear them..

While I won't try to defend them ( it's a really big tent party) I would like to remind you of a couple debates where the conservative behavior was appalling, like cheering for an uninsured man who gets hit by a truck to die or how about when they were booing a member of the military because he is gay. This was shameful behavior but I guess Neither party is perfect.
A few individuals vs your entire party platform and apparatus...your comment is almost as embarrassing as the actual incident.

Huffington Post calls it:

It now reads: THE PUSHOVER PARTY

Simply amazing. They just made their entire convention about this.

You can imagine all the finger pointing on this one. No one is saying who (or what committee) and why it was changed. Did this come down from Obama to rewrite the platform? This question will be front and center. There will be questions on this blunder for days, until the media that really wants to know gets answers.

The Dems are a disgrace... they make me want to vomit.

the best part of this pic and his reaction on the video is that you can tell he was being forced to add the language into the bill against his will lol

Obama Personally Intervened

Following what Obama campaign officials said was the personal intervention of President Barack Obama, the Democratic National Committee reversed itself and altered their platform Wednesday afternoon to include language identifying Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

After defending their decision to keep such language out of the platform as recently as this afternoon, convention leaders today proposed two amendments to the platform adopted on Tuesday, one to add a mention of God and one to add a mention of Jerusalem.

An Obama campaign official told The Cable late Wednesday that the change in platform was made to reflect the personal views of Obama, who believes that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and who "personally intervened" to ask for the platform change.

The Romney campaign was quick to call on Obama to publicly state that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, as his party's platform language now states.

"Mitt Romney has consistently stated his belief that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. Although today's voice vote at the Democratic National Convention was unclear, the Democratic Party has acknowledged Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. President Obama has repeatedly refused to say the same himself. Now is the time for President Obama to state in unequivocal terms whether or not he believes Jerusalem is Israel's capital," said campaign spokeswomanAndrea Saul.

The amendments required two thirds of delegates' support for adoption and the voice votes inside the arena were so inconclusive, the chair had to call for votes three times. After declaring that two thirds of the delegates had approved the amendments, the hall erupted in boos and howls.

Dems change platform to include Jerusalem language after Obama intervened | The Cable

clinton is correct, obama is overtly amateur

disappointed?

If you want to win office in America, you must claim certain things no matter how unrealistic they are or how untruthful.

The US does not recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. There's a long political history to this but in our fantasy of bringing peace to the ME, we have avoided doing this. So, it's just hyperbole for the Jewish vote.

Most of the politicians don't believe in god. They're just accommodating all the other phonies who think it's important "to believe in god". If even 50% of the people who claim to "believ in god" actually believed in god, we'd be living in a much kinder, gentler world.
