Congressman Allen West is hands down one of the craziest Tea Party Republicans to ever step foot in Congress. But don't take our word for it. Take a look at some of his craziest and most devisive rhetoric.
West wrote “I must confess, when I see anyone with an Obama 2012 bumper sticker, I recognize them as a threat to the gene pool.”
“I believe there’s about 78 to 81 members of the Democratic party that are members of the Communist Party... (unintelligible) It’s called the Congressional Progressive caucus.*
In June 2012, West said that President Obama wants Americans to “be his slave.” -*“He does not want you to have the self-esteem of getting up and earning and having that title of American. He’d rather you be his slave".*
West said in an interview with ThinkProgress that he would not support a law prohibiting hiring or firing works because of sexual preference because*“that don’t happen out here in the United States of America”. West also said that the issue*was not “a big issue with small businesses.”
West “said ‘liberal progressivism’ has failed all over the world emphasizing his opposition to abortion and gay marriage. ‘If you break down the American family, that leads to government dependency.’”
In regard to Don't Ask Don't Tell, West insinuated that gay military men and women would somehow spawn the death of the military saying “When you take the military and you tell it they must conform to the individual's behavior, then it's just a matter of time until you break down the military."
West believes gays can change their behavior, saying that “I can't change my color. People can change their behavior, but I can't change my color."
