Romney selects Allen West to leavoters barge for black voters

Oh ALLEN West....

I thought this was about Adam West....I was pretty interested there for a second.

Congressman Allen West is hands down one of the craziest Tea Party Republicans to ever step foot in Congress. But don't take our word for it. Take a look at some of his craziest and most devisive rhetoric.

West wrote “I must confess, when I see anyone with an Obama 2012 bumper sticker, I recognize them as a threat to the gene pool.”
“I believe there’s about 78 to 81 members of the Democratic party that are members of the Communist Party... (unintelligible) It’s called the Congressional Progressive caucus.*
In June 2012, West said that President Obama wants Americans to “be his slave.” -*“He does not want you to have the self-esteem of getting up and earning and having that title of American. He’d rather you be his slave".*

West “said ‘liberal progressivism’ has failed all over the world emphasizing his opposition to abortion and gay marriage. ‘If you break down the American family, that leads to government dependency.’”
In regard to Don't Ask Don't Tell, West insinuated that gay military men and women would somehow spawn the death of the military saying “When you take the military and you tell it they must conform to the individual's behavior, then it's just a matter of time until you break down the military."
West believes gays can change their behavior, saying that “I can't change my color. People can change their behavior, but I can't change my color."
“We need to let President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and my dear friend the chairman of the Democratic National Committee (Debbie Wasserman Schultz), let them know Florida ain’t on the table […]Take your message of economic dependency, take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else. You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America.”*
“If Joseph Goebbels was around, he'd be very proud of the Democrat Party because they have an incredible propaganda machine. I think that you have, and let's be honest, you know, some of the people in the media are complicit in this, in enabling them to get that type of message out."*
"In 1930 there was a gentleman in Germany who took away private gun ownership. And you know what happened to that population. You must be well informed and well armed because this government that we have now is a tyrannical government."*

Allen West recently singled out Social Security Disability benefits as also being a form of "modern, 21st century slavery" saying : "What we're doing is we're creating a welfare entitlement class...So once again we are creating the sense of economic dependence which, to me, is a form of modern, 21st-century Slavery.

That's me on the right... the libs can say what they want about the colonel... but he is a smart, and very intuitive man... but I guess one has to meet him in person to get to know this...

He's too much a potential wild card for a convention speech. However, he'll make a good attack dog since Republicans have nothing to lose with African American voters at this point. If his rabble rousing and radical statements can somehow get 5% just by being extreme, its a plus.

If Wasserman-Schultz said it she's wrong. I don't see any commonalities when comparing Ryan to Goebbels. Goebbels was an evil genius. He was a master of propaganda and mass manipulation. He used his gift for all the wrong reasons.

Ryan is neither evil nor a genius. I don't agree with him, but then I don't agree with Jeff Zients. Small wonder, he used to work for Bain. LOL! Ryan is to my thinking a bit of zealot, as is West.

I have given myself the luxury of not having to kiss partisan butt. Both parties have contributed greatly to the mess we are in and neither is likely to know the way out of the dungheap. All the bickering and positioning reminds me of school yard taunts, "He hit me first!". I'm not in anyway defending Wasserman-Schultz. She's no different than people on the other side of the isle. Whether she did compare Ryan to Goebbels or not is meaningless - or it should be.

You make a good point, Joko. West will very much fit in the Romney campaign attack dog role. He is an accomplished man and an engaging speaker. He does appeal to a small segment of people who are attracted to mad men. I don't see how Romney would have much to lose by bringing him on board. He'll certainly get some press, albeit likely controversial. How or if he will affect African American voters will be interesting to see.

Nope, she's been endorsed by the Brady Campaign. Still, a remarkable American hero who deserves honor and respect. I just wont vote for her. If I lived in her district I'd just stay home. No way I could pull the lever for Walsh either. He's a total tool.

Of course it's Pelosi. I don't know why I wrote Wasserman-Schultzz. I had her on my brain from another article or perhaps it's that I'd rather not think about Pelosi unless I'm forced to.

It's not a preview of the kind of cabinet people Mitt will choose...

It's a real example of the kind of people Mitt chose to garner quick attention and influence people willing to switch sides during an election...

You don't get the undecideds and swing voters by playing cautious... you get them by being fiery and telling them the truth, no matter how controversial it is...

That's what Mitt will need people under him to be doing in order to get elected, in order to be able to choose a cabinet...

Like West or not... He is a Black Republican, and a Representative from West Palm Beach in FL... One of the key voting Demographics of this and every election...

The people on this list are largely from FL, MI, OH, CO, and the Carolinas... Do you think that's by mistake? That's where this election is going to turn...

So if West can cause a stirr and cause some doubt... maybe convince a few people in the Miami-Dade area to not vote for Obama, it holds down what is supposed to be a large base of Democratic support... and then if Mitt wins FL, he likely wins the election...

Without winning FL, Mitt can win the election by winning VA, NC, CO, MI, and OH... Those are states where there are heavy unemployment rates at the moment, in which people who are Black that supported Obama when he came onto the scene could be suspect to a "change" of opinion on him based off the economic problems in these areas...

Miami-Dade has large voting blocks of Gays, Blacks, Hispanics, and Jews... They've traditionally supported the Democratic Party in droves... Mitt has already made in roads and will try to make more with Jews with Obama's mishandling of the Israel situation, he's going to attempt to make in roads with Blacks and Hispanics based off the poor economic situation...

The area also has a large amount of upper middle class people who tended to vote Democratic, but Mitt relied upon them in the primary process, and could really challenge for them nationally, and upset Obama's advantage there in a lot of states... Those people tend not to be swung by offensive controversial comments... but look at the policies of the candidates and there real effects... So there's really only a slight chance of problems there...
