politico's top story this afternoon:

DNC 2012: Unions shrug at Democratic convention - POLITICO.com

Labor unions and Democrats form a pretty traditional political alliance that’s usually on display in full force at the national conventions. Big labor historically spent big money on concerts, lunches, rallies and panels for its members, and spent millions to help fund the Democrats’ party.

This year? Not so much.

Some union officials are sitting out the political fete entirely after the Democrats chose a labor-unfriendly location in the right-to-work state of North Carolina. Others are sending skeleton staffs to support their union delegates, but say they’re focusing resources elsewhere. Labor groups aren’t shelling out for big events in Charlotte, and many aren’t even donating cash to the cause — despite their exemption from new restrictive fundraising rules.

oh, the irony

the very institutions that weigh down obama and hold back the entire progressive movement, forcing on both so unflattering a profile---servants straining under the bossmaster's whip---today assert their predictable and unyielding insistence for more, always more

unappeased, they deny their president their fullest effort when he needs their reinforcement most, they hold back at the crux when everything is on the line

et tu, brute

them that show no loyalty get none, don't turn your back

north carolina is a right to work state, and free and open shops are simply anathema to the stuck-in-the-status-quo statists

the umw, venerable grandfather of what long ago was a visionary and forward-looking movement, has already announced it will NOT be supporting barack hussein in november

Coal Miners Union Sits Out Presidential Race - Amy Harder - NationalJournal.com

the war on coal is simply too much for the appalachian and rust belt blue-collars---ask ultra progressive senator jay rockefeller

lisa jackson at epa treats us just like the seals did ubl, laments cecil roberts, miner prez

richard trumka, unlike many, will go to charlotte, but he makes clear that the afl-cio will scale back its support for the administration that turns to a navy seal to run its epa

trumka's membership, according to politico above, actually showed more enthusiasm for labor's "shadow convention" in philadelphia two weeks ago

ever grasping for more of the public's payola, they squeeze the golden goose until she lays no more

and barack hussein is clutched fast in the greedy grip

nimrata randhawa "nickey" haley is the governor of south carolina, a very attractive 40 year old sikh-born convert to Christ

ms haley was a going nowhere nobody til she received the imprimatur of palin, which ms haley pranced thru the primaries and into the 2010 general election for gub

ms haley survived a filthy hate campaign which came from establishment republican sources, alleging a pair of extramarital affairs, to become the youngest current governor in america

she fought and in june, 2011, won a battle with the nlrb---which was only operating via a presidential recess appointment made when the senate, according to senate precedent, was NOT in recess---over the expansion of boeing into the palmetto state

"we deserve a president who won't sacrifice american jobs and american workers to pacify the bullying union bosses he counts as political allies," proclaimed governor haley in tampa last week

chris christie in jersey is another---he had the courage to speak truth to the teachers unions, he forced tenure reform thru dark blue trenton

democrats believe in teachers unions, the bigman thundered, we believe in teachers

so the teachers unions dump the prez

obama never really had much of a chance in right to work, military rich, and deeply evangelist north carolina

but he's holding his abortion palooza of a convention there anyway

for what?

ask trumka

embarrassed yet?

everyone's disappointed

"Embarassment of riches" has become "riches of embarassment." Disappointment, thy name is Obama.

Typical union behavior, if they don't get everything they want they go into a deep pout. Poor babies.

I remember reading in the local rag about how much $$ the Kenyan was spending on polling. I also remember when Scott Brown was running for Ted's seat. There was a picture of a woman wearing a union tee and holding up a sign supporting Scott. When my alzheimers brain puts all this together (including the part about Union $), it tells me that the Kenyan and his campaign have a real problem.

I also look forward to see how Rahm handles his chic-a-go teachers strike. Where's Al when you need him most?
