From Rains wash away Mount Obama in Charlotte, N.C.:

A torrential downpour that struck Charlotte Saturday afternoon damaged the Mount Rushmore-style sand sculpture bust of President Obama — an ominous beginning to what many fear is a plagued convention.

An omen perhaps? Maybe they should have stayed with the styrofoam Greek columns. Some days you just can't catch a break...:lamo

Have they canceled the first night of the convention yet?

We can only hope.

I think the 1 day lost by the RNC was fine. Folks get tired of hearing the same old - same old.

The Dems should do the same.

This has to do with the 2012 election how again?

Maybe Clint, already on the east coast, would like another gig in Charlotte?

Any article that refers to Mr. Obama twice makes me shudder.

There is probably a moral in here somewhere, dealing with structures/policies built of sand, lacking foundation, magnificent visions meeting the real world, presidential legacies -- that sort of thing.

If he wanted it to be permanent he should have learned how to carve stone.

The moral of this thread is that the OP is a fly-by artist who comes to this forum to spam whatever negative leaning garbage any right-wing Enquirer-like magazines come up with that generally has no merit in conversation.

Your opinion is noted.

There will probably be an empty chair on the stage at some point.

Lord knows there will be number of empty suits.

There's a joke in this about shaping manure. I just can't seem to come up with it.

Zing! Good one!

I heard that they are giving away tickets in order to try to fill the stadium. Even Hillary is staying as far away as possible.

Sort of like G W Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Colin Powell, Michael Steele, Karl Rove and Sarah Palin weren't invited to the RNC but there is a difference in the reasons as to why two former Republican Presidents didn't show up in Tampa and why Sec of State Clinton won't be in Charlotte

Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines said Clinton never considered going to the convention. He noted that it is customary for national security Cabinet secretaries not to attend partisan functions, and indeed the defense secretary and other security chiefs will not be in Charlotte either.

“This trip was timed around next week’s APEC Leaders Summit in Russia, where [Clinton] will be representing the president who obviously can’t attend,” Reines said.

There it is...not 20 posts in and someone plays the "George Bush" card. See y'all in 50 years, when the leftists will still be playing that card.

I agree with the analogy. The false god effigy melted just as fast as "hope and change" did.

nice try, but fail once again. Bubba Clinton is going to try to bail out obozo for his terrible performance. Hillary is going far away so she will not be contaminated by the stink. The hypocirsy of all this is laughable since everyone knows that the clintons hate obama for stealing hillary's chance. What a bunch of clowns!

Always like to see political opponents behaving like grammar schoolkids in a sandbox. :spank:

I expect Slick Willie's speech to be interesting and entertaining, with a rather limp endorsement of The One. I also expect to see signs of a Hillary bid coming in 2016...

Has obama not turned his campaign over to Bubba? Has Hillary not left town? Is it not hypocrisy when Bubba pretends to support obama when he actually hates him and will probably vote for Romney?

Kids in a sandbox? yes, the dems certainly fit that definition.

Right, Bubba will give a flacid endorsement to obama while setting the stage for Hillary. His message will be: obama is a clown and a failure, but put him in for 4 more years and then elect hillary.
