On Thursday Obama is going to deliver a great speech about how things are going on in this country. It's clear that the President is having a though time convincing the American people that his economic policies are working. One day after his speech which is Friday, the job report for the month of August will be released. I was reading a post on ABCNEWS which states that analysts expect the job report to say the economy added 118,000. Let's say that number is like the June job report which showed the economy only added 69,000. Would that job report overshadow the president speech?

Don't worry, i am sure romney can ship those jobs to china in his first day as president.

Your posts are exactly the kind I expected during the election cycle. Thank you for not disappointing me. Oh, where's that link about Romney's disowned brother, Tererun???? :rofl

The answer is "no, it won't"

The Jobs Report has been pathetic for as far as I can remember. Three years ago, it was a big deal that we missed the minimum needed jobs mark by tens of thousands. Now, it's just "the norm." People become complacent with "the norm" if it's been "the norm" for long enough.

Obama will tell you everything is gonna be all puppies and kitties with him, and the hardline sycophants will blindly agree with him. The pied piper is leading them off the cliff, and they're too enraptured by the music he's playing to care.

Whatever the jobs report says, it will be amended, and not for the better. SOP for the Kenyan's administration.

There's another false right wing talking point.

Did you notice that GDP growth last quarter was recently revised UP from 1.5% to 1.7%?

Overshadow? no, but it could modify. If the story for the weekend is "The President Gave A Great Speech But", then that's not a good cycle for Obama.

However, I would bet this has been forseen, and already dealt with.

I did indeed. I also noticed that 1.7% continues to be abysmal and well below what we should be seeing in a so-called "recovery".

Then upon thinking about it for a second, I noticed that you had introduced a Straw Man fallacy, as he hadn't discussed GDP growth numbers at all, but rather monthly jobs reports.

For me it will, since I will probably read articles about the jobs report. Thankfully my off button on my TV still works, even on Thursday nights. My decision on this election was made a longtime ago. Don't really care what the idiot has to say, ain't going to change my opinion.

It will be interesting to watch obama try to convince us he has done a good job on the economy. He should just come out wearing a Jimmy Carter mask and get this over with, it's time to give someone else a shot.

I don't think Obama will say that it's going to be all puppies and kitties with him, as I think there are plenty of people who doubt that Romney will make things any better.

For independent voters, the question may not be if things will improve under Obama but rather the fear that Romney may make things worse.

What's the big deal about jobs anymore? Obama will gladly grant you welfare or permanent disability to gain your vote.

I already have permanent disability, although not Social Security (I've been holding back applying for it even though I could get it). Guess he needs something else to buy my vote. Oh, wait, there is nothing he could possibly offer for me to vote for him.

How can things get any worse, Obama added 6 trillion to the national debt in just 4 yrs, unemployment over 8% for 42 months, an anemic GDP of 1.5%, the black community is unemployed at 14%, more people on food stamps than ever before, more poor than ever before, gas prices have doubled, Obama never had budget, and we got Obamacare that is stealing 716 billion from Medicare, and 30 states sued to kill Obamacare it is so well liked, on and on it goes.

Ah ah ah....not so fast...you know as well as I do that every time the CBO looks at that monstrosity, they jack the total cost up a few dozen billion.

It's rather unfortunate how the American people don't tend to understand complex things like economics. That's why middle class people freak out about their taxes going up slightly, but don't realize the money they would be saving through universal healthcare. Not to mention actually being healthier.

I agree. I can hear him now:

Folks, it's not perfect. Have we solved all of the nation's problems? That answer is obviously no. But!! Are we moving in the right direction? Absolutely, we ARE!! (Pause for applause.) Now. Do we want to continue moving toward a healthy middle class, one where your family sees the possibility to reach the American Dream?? Or do we want more of Bush Era politics at your family's expense?? (Pause for applause. Nods head in agreement.)

It's all bull****. On both sides. When we heal the economy and people feel comfortable taking on debt and spending, when they don't fear for their jobs -- the economy will improve. Who best will do that? I don't know...I'm not sure. But I'm voting for Romney.

Guess that this means I was correct about the adjustment.

Yeah ... except you claimed that numbers were always adjusted down ... not UP, as in this case.

My bad for using the word "always". How about perpetual "adjustments" ... maybe you can provide me with some adjectives I could use.

The problem the president has right now is that he can't say people are better of than they were 4 years ago.

70% of Obama's "Green Tech" failed Stimulus funding went to foreign corporations.

Obama shipped jobs overseas with taxpayer money. Romney has not.

You have been brainwashed by a cult

It's ideological collectivist misguided socialists such as yourself who can't fundamentally grasp economics

Obama's failed record as president is just another historic example of that. The New Deal policies prolonged the Great Depression. Jimmy Carter was a disaster. Obama is the worst of both combined. You have nothing. All you can do is hide behind a false mask of intellectual superiority when you're the one with the dunce cap in the room.

You have to love Obama's build from the bottom up, in other words "trickle up", the problem is he can't explain what that mean. The poor, people on welfare, people on food stamps, etc how are they going to build businesses and get American working again. He already tried flooding this country with 6 trillion of borrowed money in just 4 yrs. and that did not work.

So I ask how is Obama going to move this economy from the bottom up, (trickle up). Nothing he has done yet has worked. I would sure like to hear in detail what he proposes to do.
