The election is over. [W:593]

Re: The election is over.

How do you know he was lying? I will concede that he might have been lying, but I don't know he was and I suspect you don't either.

And BTW, how is it slander? Did he accuse Romney of doing something illegal? Of course not.

Romney has released his 2010-2011 tax returns and both show he paid a lot in taxes. Why do Democrats get a pass?

Why did he pay more in 2011 than he had to?

Re: The election is over.

How would you know? How many Romney ads are you seeing in Oregon? Further how often have you researched the Obama results? If this country re-elects Obama then it just goes to show how stupid today's electorate is where rhetoric trumps actual results.

No matter who wins, it'll be rhetoric trumps results. If you look at Romney's results as Governor, Romneycare kind of sticks out. He's been trying to run away from his record since 2007.

He paid more in 2010 than he needed to as well. Do you know how quarterly tax payments work? He got a big refund both years for overpaying. Notice you didn't say much about the 4 million given to charity last year and 3 million the year before, both a lot higher percentage of income than Obama or Biden.

He left office in January 2007 and left the state in better condition that he took it. Think Obama can say that when he leaves office this January?

No. I think no matter who wins, it's going to be a long 4 years.

Re: The election is over.

I watched 4 years of whining already. Another 4 years of whining is in the pipeline. Instead of whining why not ask yourselves what you can do for your country.

Um, no, he didn't pay more in 2010 than he needed to. Do you know how tax returns work? You don't get refunds unless you ask for them.

Thats the most realistic thing thats been said in this entire thread. We have such systemic economic problems that overcoming them wont be easy.

True, and the same was true four years ago -- times four. Amazing how so many people forget that.

Actually that is close, did you see what another poster just stated?

These are Obama supporters who don't seem to understand that when you file your taxes you report your income and your expenses with the end result being a refund(overpayment of taxes) or what you owe the govt.

This country is in a real mess with people like this that don't understand taxes, income, expenses, charitable giving.

Enough people realize it which is why Obama still has a fighting chance.

Oy vey :doh

Filing a tax return to get refunded your overpayment is the equivalent of asking for your refund.

I think it's cute how you compare the results of two politicians who in office at different times, one during an economic boom spurred by an over-inflated housing market; the other, during the worst recession in a century which peaked in the month he started.

And I'd wager you actually believe you made a point.

Re: The election is over.

A new poll just out has the race dead even at 47%. And that's even with a breakdown of 36% dems, 29% reps, and 29% independents. That is close to the 2008 turnout but nothing like the 2010 turnout when dems and reps turned out in equal numbers giving the GOP its biggest mid term election victory in history. So if Obama can't duplicate the historical democrat turnout of 2008 he will lose big. There's still 5 weeks to go and anybody who thinks it's over is foolish.

How lucky is Obama that states elect presidents, not the popular vote ... ?

Obama: 269/270
Romney: 181
