Mitt was looking a bit worried, like he was afraid Christie was going Rogue on him...

Pretty obvious Christie is rooting for Obama. And if we want to avoid a Hillary presidency in 2016, all republicans should be rooting for Obama. Romney is a weak candidate, he would be a weak president, and Hillary will wipe the floor with him in 2016. Christie, on the other hand would have a good shot against Hillary.

I don't buy that argument. Thing's change too rapidly to just sacrifice four years of the Presidency because you're afraid you might lose the next four in the following election. What if Obama wins and Hillary decides not to run, a strong possibility. There isn't a roster full of experienced, strong Democratic candidates that could easily topple in incumbent, even a weaker one such as Romney if he were to win.

If you are hoping Hilary will not run in 2016, you are going to be disappointed. Bill would not be campaigning for Obama like he is, for Hillary to simply fade into retirement... not a chance. Hill is trying to act like a good sec of state, apolitical. But she definitely has designs on the White House in 2016.

Even so, it is not practical to set aside four years of the presidency because you believe that a strong candidate might run in 2016. Candidates people are sure are going to run sometimes don't. Candidates people think are invincible sometimes flame out. Better to just try and win now for a guaranteed four years.

Christie would be embarrassing. We would be feeding the american stereotype of being fat and pouting. Picture Christie visiting other nations, representing the US? It would be pathetic. And thats just his appearance, nvm his attitude when he doesn't get what he wants... hes a 7 year old brat that is extremely large. U can hear the guy breathing heavily on tv, always out of breath from walking up those 4 stair to the podium. He's almost as much of a tool as willard romney... ok thats pushin it

Really? That's your criticism of him? Not his political views or his policy decisions as governor, but his appearance?

you're fat too huh? I don't look up to obese people when they pout

I absolutely love how you quoted yourself for that. Anyway. I think appearance is way far down on the list of things to criticize a politician for.

he is a pouty a hole. Screaming at reporters for asking a question. The personality is your typical fat american personality; a brat demanding he get what he wants. And to describe him as anything other than a fat piece of chit would be a lie.

No, it's unfortunate that republicans fielded a extremely weak field, when Obama has so much going against him and was vulnerable for an incumbent. But 4 years of Romney do not justify the 8 years of Hillary that will follow. Obama has been ineffective pushing any agenda, and that would not change. NO, IMHO, 4 more years of Obama, and then take the White House for the 8 years that follows is a better strategic plan. Romney will simply diminish the conservative brand, demoralize the base, and not only give away the executive branch in 2016, but probably drag down at least one house with him.

Appearances do play a very important part in conveying a point. If he came out there in a polka dot dress and a Carmen Miranda fruit hat it would be hard to take him seriously.

When he talks about sacrificing and working hard it doesn't match his appearance. He just isn't overweight but is covered in a very soft baby fat which is non flattering for an adult man.

This is reflective of someone who can not discipline himself which is a big problem in this country. We max out our credit cards because we got to have that new luxury item and then we can't refuse that dozen donuts so we become one of the top 5 most obese people in the world.

He needs to stop telling others what to do and instead tell himself to quit eating himself to an early death.

I find it astounding that you guys cant see that Christie isnt for anyone except himself...he has a huge EGO...and to him its all about him and no one else...thats the STRONG impression I get from him

Hilary Clinton should have been the Democratic Party nominee this year. President Obama should have not run for a second term.

Having said that, let us assume that Obama wins reelection this year. I suspect that in four years Romney will not win the GOP nomination as he will be damaged goods and a loser in the eyes of many in the party. Hilary will be too old.

The field should be wide open on both sides.

Yeah, if felt like a speech looking toward 2016.

He was also reluctant to mention the President.

Another 4 yrs of Obama will put the Dem's out of contention in 2016. I don't care if Billy Boy was running.

Christie should be tied up and thrown into the ocean.

LOL, another Democrat who secretly feels "I wish Hillary was president!"

This is Romney's only chance, yes. The field will be open but Hillary will not be too old. If you want Hillary, hope Obama loses. Whoever becomes president, the US economic future is not looking bright. Whichever party has the presidency for the next 4 years will take the blame.

Christie doesn't like Flip-Flop Robme. That is why.

Most of the party isn't exactly excited. Michele Bachmann spoke to the Minnesota delegation, and went on and on about Paul Ryan. Barely even mentioned Romney.

We will see. Hillary could have made it this time but I just think she is too old in four years and she will have been out of the spotlight for too long.

If Obama loses, we may not even have fair and open elections open to everyone in four years.

I am amazed you think that Obama shouldn't have run. Puzzled. I agree about Romney; this time or no time.

Why? Do you think the Democratic state legislators will go rogue and want people to prove they're eligible to vote?

I have been saying for almost a full year now that Obama should not run again. His appearance on the ballot places the entire US government in danger of being taken over by the right wing and moving us down the Road to Serfdom and corporate fascism. As such - we simply need a better nominee who can win.

I am not clear about your question about Dems in state legislatures. Could you restate that or elaborate on it a bit?
