This is really funny is a sad and pathetic sort of way.

Mitt Romney irons clothes and shops at Costco - Chicago Sun-Times

Romney, who has had troubles this campaign connecting with middle-class voters, made the statement about his wardrobe during an interview broadcast Sunday on Fox News.
Just the other day, he said, his wife, Ann, bought him a three-pack of Costco’s Kirkland-brand dress shirts.
“They’ve very nice shirts,” he told Fox News Sunday.
“He’s wearing them all the time now,” his wife then volunteered.
“I’m like, ‘that shirt looks pretty good. I got it at Costco.’
So Mitt Romney expects us to believe that he is happy wearing a bunch of shirts from Costco that together probably cost 90% less than a pair of shoes he wears.

And this is suppose to get him over as just an average guy...... the equal of the infamous "hockey mom" from four years ago perhaps?

I shop at Costco. I buy lots of stuff at Costco. Too much stuff at Costco at times. But if I had Mittens money, shirts would not be one item on my list there.

I really don't think this is going to fool anybody. Do you.

between that and Biden's "y'all" and chains gaffe, i wonder who, if anyone, is advising these people. i mean, did they seriously think people are going to watch that and say "holy ****, i shop at cosco, too! he is a regular guy!"

Huh? You're really going to compare a deliberate slavery reference to buying shirts at a big box store? Really?

Just like the video of him from June I think sitting with some people at a picnic table. His comment was "are these cookies homemade? They look like they are from a seven eleven." How demeaning is that? Actually they were from a local bakery. What a slap in the face to those people. So he shops at Costco, yeah right!!!

Worst choice

Kirkland Signature (Costco), $17
Two of shirts we examined had stitching problems that could have sent them to the rag pile before their time, and one buttonhole was overstitched and looked more like a parallelogram than a rectangle.

i'm referring to politicians temporarily putting on a ridiculous mask in order to appeal to whoever they are talking to at the moment. there are countless examples, such as the spontaneous development of a new accent.

not to mention that both of the statements sounded somewhat rehearsed, which means that somebody probably greenlighted that. it's simply mind boggling.

Who gives a flying crap where any politician buys his/her clothes at?
This is what our criticism has been reduced to?

I do! If this guy just now lowered himself to buy a shirt from Costco, it means he doesn't "get" us regular folk or what it's like to struggle Im sure anne never had to coupon clip or decide between peanut butter and pasta, they are waay out of touch! I caught the clip on tv it was a turn off mitt is so awkward ..

I think the weirdest part of that statement is that he really expects us to believe that Ann Romney goes to Costco and knows where the clothing section is. She's probably seen the exit for it and dropped off one of her maids to do the shopping. I'm not even fabulously rich (I'm upper middle class) and I can't remember the last time I actually went to buy clothes at any big box store.

However it's inconsequential. We're at that stage of the race where everyone pretends to be poor.

Thankfully I don't care for immaterial things like this.
I mean, it's virtually meaningless when it comes to government policy formation.

And that goes for both Obama or Romney.
The last thing I could give 2 ****s about is, where they buy their clothes or have they clipped coupons.

LOL!

I love this.

You realize that many (intelligent) rich people don't buy Armani and Gucci? Look at Bill Gates; the dude dresses like a high school math teacher and he's got more money than God. Smart people get rich by NOT spending money. Thus, it makes sense that he buys cheap shirts at Costco. That's probably part of the reason he's got so much damn money.

Idiots with money blow it all on over-priced crap. Look at every rapper and pro-athlete in history, lol. Smart rich people drive the same old '89 Carolla, buy Wal-mart jeans and save everything. THAT'S how smart rich people deal with money. Looks like Romney knows what he's doing.

Meanwhile...what was the unemployment rate today? GDP in America last quarter? Hows that economy steaming along? Hows the middle east doing...read anything more on the 6 soldiers killed in Afghanistan or the suicide epidemic in the Army since 2009? How are those gas prices holding out?

And you want to talk about Romneys shirt...

:lamo

It means a lot if the man has never been hungry or had the real life experiences normal people have had, Mitt wants to cut programs like education and food stamps, raise taxes on middle income families that are already struggling ,take away tax deductions like your mortgage, it matters if the guy gets it or not, apparently Romney doesnt he sends jobs overseas and wants to give his rich friends and donors more tax cuts .God help us all........it all matters.

You do, really, your a die-hard Obama lover. And could care less what Romney does.

The job he and Obama are going for, aren't legislative.
They are executive.

They exist to execute laws passed by Congress.
It doesn't even matter.

:sigh:
Exactly why I don't vote.
People base important decisions on meaningless and immaterial, stupid, dog and pony stuff.

Oddly, my sister and brother in law(who qualify as rich) do shop at Costco, and Sams(and even Wallmart, which is lower class than I will go).

Seriously...a politician pandering at a stop like that is worth a thread complaining about it? Is this the best you can do?

They are phony in my opinion.

Chris Wallace asks the question about Costco at about 9:20 in the video at the following link:

Yep, watch the clip, Anne and mitt are two of the most awkward people ever it's definitely worth bringing to everyone's attention'!

"Ann Romney said her husband ironed his own clothing the morning of their interview from the couple’s New Hampshire lake home and had done his own laundry the night before." I iron my own clothes, even my hats, sew, cook and do the laundry, but, I still do not identify with or trust this guy.

Like all those democrat politicians you 'relate to' so well??? It's funny liberals think this kind of crap is relevant.

Why don't you email John boehner and let him know you would like something done! Maybe pass the Presidents jobs bill, or transportation bill. Why are you on this thread if it doesn't interest you?

Yep,
Actually there are a few down to earth republicans, but it's not my fault your party nominated an awkward gump like Romney!
