Mitt and his Costco shirts fool America?

Sadly, this is what envy does to people. I've know several millionares in my life. Most of which, would wear similar garb as me when I interacted with them. T-shirt, shorts and flip flops.

But do you know any of them that brag like they are in a commercial at the moment describing the "down to Earth" clothes they wear from Costco?

Look, I shop at Costco but when I buy something I don't make a big deal out of it and say "Hey, look at this shirt I got from Costco" like I was in a commercial like the Romney's did.

At least be honest, this was a ploy from Romney to look more "Like the regular folk". Not saying it's bad, not saying the other sides don't do it to, but in this case it was obviously staged and quite frankly looked more like a commercial than a statement.

And they probably wipe their ass with toilet paper like you and I. But do they go to extra length to let you know they bought a pair of flip flops at a Target? Why would that be needed?

To relate. Has this not been one of the charges by his opponents? The "out of touch" mantra. Its obviously politics but this nothing that any other politician running for office does.

Correct, but just because others do it and it's politics, doesn't mean it isn't deserving of being called out on it when it happens. And that goes for all sides BTW, not just Romney.

I'd hardly say "deserving." Its like say..."Hey, Obama had a beer today in bar! OMG!!!"

Its stupid.

No, bad analogy. You would have a point if Obama had the campaign media with him as he was having a beer while describing a coors light he is drinking.

What was stupid, is the Romney's doing this. It doesn't really matter to me what you feel is deserving or not, they got called on their stupidity.

I think this goes back to the time that George Bush senior was asked by a reporter what the price of milk was and he didn't have a clue. That line about going to costco to buy your shirts would have been just as cheesy if Michelle Obama said it.

It is amazing the mindset these supposedly intelligent people have in pulling stunts like that. I just want to see a commercial of Mitt and Ann along with the 5 preppy Romney boys loading a futon on top of their station wagon in a Wal Mart parking lot.

Maybe that's the reason some people have "problems" with the rich. They completely forget that they put their pants on one leg at a time just like everybody else.

I am not sure about that. I see at least some rich building a slide of gold upon which they can glide down while FIFI the upstairs made holds their pants at the bottom so that both legs can enter at the same time. ;)

This is really funny is a sad and pathetic sort of way.

Mitt Romney irons clothes and shops at Costco - Chicago Sun-Times

So Mitt Romney expects us to believe that he is happy wearing a bunch of shirts from Costco that together probably cost 90% less than a pair of shoes he wears.

And this is suppose to get him over as just an average guy...... the equal of the infamous "hockey mom" from four years ago perhaps?

I shop at Costco. I buy lots of stuff at Costco. Too much stuff at Costco at times. But if I had Mittens money, shirts would not be one item on my list there.

I really don't think this is going to fool anybody. Do you.
Its really pathetic trying to bash a guy because of the money he has.You are aware that most elected officials are ****en rich.So the idea Barrack Obama, Al Gore, Nancy Pelosi,Scott Brown, Harry Reid, John Kerry,Newt Gingrich or some other wealthy politician cares more about the common man that Mitt Romney is ludicrous.

What is pathetic is that they only seem to care about wealth when it s a republican that has it. Whats comical is they think they dont come across as mindless partisan hypocrites.

whats even better was they didnt care when Obama wouldnt wear a flag lapel pin and wouldnt salute the flag, but somehow Mitts shirts are an issue...

Worst choice

Kirkland Signature (Costco), $17
Two of shirts we examined had stitching problems that could have sent them to the rag pile before their time, and one buttonhole was overstitched and looked more like a parallelogram than a rectangle.

Wrinkle free dress shirts: Consumer Reports

I've owned dozens of Costco kirkland button downs, never had one with stitching issues. But even if you did happen to buy one with issues, Costco will take it back, no questions asked... even if you wore it, spilled coffee and grape jelly all down the front. Costco will take it back and give a full refund. Try that at JC Pennys.

I bought a PS3 at costco, after 3 years of ownership, one day the screen went all red. Quick internet search, and I found "Red Screen of Death", my PS3 had died. I took it back to costco, and got a full refund, 3 years after I bought it. I proceeded into the store, bought a new PS3 bundle, for $200 less than the original bundle I had purchased 3 years ago.

Costco ROCKs.

Mitt Romney still sucks.

And holy crap...if they are going to be upset about fashion, shall we talk about Mo'bamas moob belts and her ginormous ass????

OK...SO not relevant to the election...I know. Well...not relevant unless you are a liberal concerned about the GOPs ability to connect with 'the little people'. You know...like all those rich democrats do.

As for Mitt shopping at Costco to relate more to the common man... Listen, the dude bulldozed a $12 million home to build a 18000 square foot mansion with an elevator in the garage. No amount of Costco shirts will help him relate to the common man. Hell he seemed surprised that Costco sells a pretty nice button down shirt.

Classy , did you check out Ann Romney's ass last night?

That is why we look at their record to see if their care about the common man is genuine or pretended just win an election with the help of a cheap shirt.

I agree with you that Costco rocks. I spend far too much there and my annual rebate check shocks me each year just to see the total.

Having said that - I will not buy their own Kirkland brand clothes. In the past I have bought both socks and jeans from them and both failed the test. Both wore out very quickly. Both did not stand up well to the rigors of wash day and aged and thinned considerable after just a few months of washings.

I have no problem with other Kirkland products such as their detergent, sunglasses and other things but their clothes simply do not make it for me. For me, I would rather pay a bit more for higher quality that will last longer over time.

Classy , did you check out Ann Romney's ass last night?
That would require actually watching the GOP convention. Why...was it hot?
You obviously miss the point.

Can you really blame him though? Democrats would be all over expensive clothing taste just like Republicans were all over Michelle's dress budget and everyone was all over Edwards's haircut. It's stupid, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

That is why I am more likely to vote for Romney than you for president. Romney gets his shirts where they are adequate and cheap. Dems, on the other hand, give them a few bucks, and it is off to Paris for shirts.

Sarah Palin feeding at the GOP trough to clothe her and her family shows you are factually wrong.

Not that it matters, but Romney only got SOME shirts there for the "Hey look, I'm like you because I have shirts from Costco" factor to try and gain votes.

It's not like the guy regularly goes to Costco with his wife and shops there.

They try too hard to come across as ordinary while the whole time it sounds phoney. You can bet Ann's $990 bird shrt did not come from Costco....LOL

I really don't care where they shop. But, I saw the clip with them talking about the "Costco" shirts, and their bad acting made me chuckle.

How does a wealthy politician prove they care about the common man? Play class warfare by screaming he's not paying his fair share or some other lib-tard nonsense? Promise to steal other people's money in the form of increased taxes and give it to them in the form of welfare? I know support a flood of illegals so that the common mans wages stay down and support companies shipping jobs overs seas that the common man loses his job and has to take a lower paying job. Yep those things sure do prove that you give a **** about the common man.(Yes I realize Romney is really no different)

Your over the top hyperbole is clear evidence that you are not asking honest questions nor are you open to honest answers.
