NBC/WSJ Poll: Romney Has Zero Percent Support From African Americans « Alan Colmes' Liberaland

Make that 94% for President Obama to 0% for Mitt Romney. That’s not the only place where Romney falls.

Looking inside the numbers, Obama continues to lead Romney among key parts of his political base, including African Americans (94 percent to 0 percent), Latinos (by a 2-to-1 margin), voters under 35-years-old (52 percent to 41 percent) and women (51 percent to 41 percent)
.

With a +/- 3.1% margin of error, it’s actually possible that Romney has negative support from African Americans.

This has to be the most fact less article I have ever read. After the rift between many of the Black Churches and Obama, I do not expect his number to be above 90 percent with blacks, or I think it will just hover around 91-92. I can say, as an African American seeing the backlash firsthand, his support in the southern states will not be the same, since many of them are more religious than here in my state, Virginia. However, I drop by mega churches quite often here and many of them simply will not be voting now. In the rural areas, black churches use church buses sometimes to take everyone out to vote, which many of them are no longer doing because of bad economy/oil prices.

Honestly, even if I am wrong about disagreeing with Obama getting around 94% again, I just think it is fact less to say 0% with Romney. Virginia is up for grabs more than ever, even if it is around tenth in lowest unemployment rate. Our Governor, Bob McDonnell, is a heavy supporter of Mitt Romney, so things are a little bit more so leaning to Romney than polls probably will show. Florida has an 8.6 unemployment rate and around 750,000 jobs have been lost—many of these are African Americans, if indicated by the Southern parts. Unless economy turns around, Obama may lose these two states. All it takes are a few voters and he will lose the Electoral College there, then the state. Moreover, do not let me talk about Ohio. Many blacks may not support Romney, but there lower voter turnout may hurt Obama more than those supporting him.

Sorry but this poll is complete BS. There are plenty of black people (sorry I hate the term African Americans especially when some are 6 generations removed or never were from Africa), that will support Romney/Ryan.

I think it has to do with several factors.

1. The incumbent opposition is black. I've heard the phrase "identity politics" thrown around since 2008, which apparently means if Hilliary Clinton runs it excites women voters as they get behind supporting the possible first female POTUS, if Mike Huckabee runs he guarantees a strong turn out among Evangelicals and its a good idea to have a someone on the ticket from a swing state because it'll help that party win that state. However when blacks are proud that in consideration of centuries of unfair treatment based on their ethnicity finally see people of all races elect a black man as POTUS and they want to get behind that, unlike the other examples I cited, this is the unethical 'identity politics' in action, 'using the race card' and is itself a form of racism, according to the cynics.

2. Since the early 1970s, blacks have overwhelmingly supported democrats. Blacks are to the democrats what Evangelicals are to republicans, their most loyal and often taken for granted constituency. If it had been Hillary Clinton, as with any other Presidential race black support for the democrat would be over 90%.

3. The LDS Church. Its perceived in the black community that the LDS church is racist. I haven't personally verified this but I saw a TV interview where it was stated that up until the late 1970s the official doctrinal position of the LDS was that black people were evil as a sole consequence of their ethnicity. In fact, to keep from mischaracterizing them, let me do a quick google search. I've gotten in trouble on boards before when citing other sources on controversial issues as if they were my own opinions I was trying to advance. ...

I do not think Mitt Romney is racist but I don't think many blacks aren't as willing to separate the historic teaching of his church with from what they suspect are reflective of his personal views no matter how much he might deny it considering politics is a vocation built upon pandering, dishonesty and spin. I'm sure in 2008 many people had similar concerns with then Senator Obama's church.

You forgot the most important factor. Romney's policies suck ass. That's probably the biggest reason black Americans do not support Romney. It's hard to support someone that wants to tax you more so he can give his rich buddies a bigger tax break.

I don't think anyone is saying that the majority of blacks won't support Obama (due to many supporting Dems).

However I think in regards to the OP saying that ZERO percent will support Romney, that is a compelte stretch of the truth.

It's zero percent +/- 3%.

So somewhere between -3% and 3% but likely closer to 0% than either extreme.

I am black and conservative and I am not voting for Romney. Not because the Book Of Mormon says blacks are the decedents of evil Jews turned that way as punishment, lol. (Yes I read some of the BOM)

I am not voting for Obama, because he is black. I am voting for Obama because he is a democrat. I am voting straight Republican for congress. Hopefully the idiots on both sides will cancel each other out much like Clinton.

I know it is a crappy strategy, but I am at a loss in this election cycle.

My theory is, "When in doubt, vote against the incumbent."

To much of a chance of the Republicans controlling at least one house. I just don't trust either party anymore. You can call it paranoia, but I am truly disappointed (have been for years) in the Republicans ability to do anything right. The Democrats are even worse. Since I don't see any judicial picks in the next 4 years (fingers crossed) I have to go with my detaunt strategy.

Wasn't it the same for the last election as well? I would vote for the first Catholic in office, but I think we nailed that already.

Black people always vote overwhelmingly for Democrats. Many of the extreme right make all sorts of ridiculous claims about why women and minorities vote for Obama. Oh it's just because he's black/handsome. Because women and minorities vote based on those things but us straight white male Republicans vote for a man based on his character and politics, right?

Guess what? Kerry got almost 90% of the black vote too. Republicans: if minorities don't vote for you, maybe you should consider the possibility that the fault isn't in them.

Looks like the tide is turning and maybe the African American community is tired of being in Liberal chains

Someone actually needed a "Poll" to confirm who the black voter will support??? :lamo

Hasn't it been long established that 90+% of Black America regularly votes Democrat???

Especially when we have a black democrat candidate running for office__This is NOT news!_

See? There it is again. Black people have been "in chains" voting for liberals, because they're just... what? Why has the black community been unable to see the light like you have? It couldn't possibly be because they think Democrats fit their political views better? Why don't you tell us all why you think black people are really voting Democrat.

As far as tide turning... well, I'm looking at a poll that fairly convincingly says otherwise.

Yes...the guy that got crushed in his primary is obviously representative of the views of African American Democratic voters.

Right, this African American obviously is an "Uncle Tom" in the liberal world and thus has no credibility.

That is a good question, the numbers certainly don't warrant the support nor does History. I think the African American community is easily led around by those chains of the Democrat Party by people who benefit greatly economically from the Democrat Party. It was Republicans that furthered their cause such as ending slavery and granting civil rights but that has been distorted and ignored by the African American "Leaders"

The black community votes for Obama, yet in the black community unemployment is above 14%, the national average is 8.3%, see anything wrong with this?
