Its headed to the Tampa Bay neighborhood just in time for the RNC national convention. By the time convention gets underway, its possible to a major storm bearing down on Tampa.

If it hits Tampa I wonder if some uber religious republicans will call it an act of god.

Weather Channel Latest projected Path/Timing as of 5PM EST today.
It has slowed a bit and is moving more westerly than earlier lines. Almost all predictions into the Gulf now, hitting from Florida Panhandle as far west as Houston, with Alabama coast at center.
Tampa Monday looks very wet and windy as of now.

And Note to Carleen above:
Quoting a picture immediately above your post, and that we Know you're responding to, just makes the board harder to read/a mess and dwarfs your 1 sentence.

My wife watchs all florida storms and she would give me plenty of warning to get us out of here if necessary...I have route plans and a comprehensive storm emergency package put together....I could get us all up and out of here and on our way in 15 mins or less...throw 5 bags in the back of the care grab the dog and off we go...:)
I have a friend of mine..actually my old boss an assistant commissioner that NEVER HAS ANY GAS IN HIS DAMN vehicle...Ive told him over and over...moron keep a full tank of gas in the hurricane season at least...he wont do it....lol

We should have nominated Santorum. That is the message being sent.

Wouldn't it be interesting if by the time it gets to Tampa its a category 4, too late to call the RNC Convention off, move it to another city or even evacuate the convention delegates? Network TV shows images of GOP delegates and politicians sleeping on the floor of the Tampa Convention Center and Rachel Maddows and Sheppard Smith showing back and forth footage of Hurricane Katrina victims at the Superdome also sleeping on the floor. Just thinking out loud.

I live in a coastal area and had a neighbor once who was TERRIFIED of bad weather. The woman actually slept on my couch one night during a tropical storm watch because she was too afraid to stay at her own house with her husband out of town. I just wonder in there will be some RNC delegates who say "bump that junk, I'm not flying into a hurricane" and the convention is half empty.

Looking now like it won't be much of an issue for Tampa. Kind of a shame, but I'm very happy that it will probably also miss Miami. Means I won't have to move my boat which is a PITA and expensive.
