Don't know how far this suit will go but could turn out to be interesting. Not as if Romney would take Washington State anyway. I love to see this though. Third parties get bullied by the two big parties via lawsuits aaallllll the time.

Washington State Libertarian Party turns tables on Republicans

On Thursday, the Huffington Post reported that the Washington State Libertarian Party has filed a lawsuit against Sam Reed, the Republican Secretary of State, the Washington State Republican Party, and Cathy McMorris Rodgers, the chair of the Mitt Romney for President campaign. The lawsuit alleges that the Republican Party is currently a minor party in the state of Washington, and as the petition deadline for minor parties has already passed, Mitt Romney must be removed from the ballot in Washington state.

The lawsuit in the Washington State Superior Court cites the 2010 Senate race between Democrat Patty Murray and Republican Dino Rossi. The law in Washington state requires each major party to win at least 5% of the vote in a statewide contest in each even year in order to remain a major party. But Rossi was never technically nominated by the state Republican Party. The Republican primary he won is not technically considered a nominating process. The lawsuit also accuses Sam Reed of using regulations to usurp state law in order to make the law apply only to presidential races, rather than to midterm elections as well.
