The Romney/Ryan alternative energy plan

There are gazillions of dollars worth of jobs and tax revenue involved in domestic energy production. This is going to be a key factor in fighting unemployment. Hopefully Romney knows that and will carry through with his energy plan.

Mitt Romney’s energy plan includes opening up more available domestic resources for drilling and fracking, streamlining regulations, and limiting federal energy “investments” to basic R&D...

Seems like more of the same old thing. The human population has been burning things for energy since before recorded history. Don't you think any candidate's energy policy should focus on moving the US forward technologically so we can have a competitive advantage over other countries? I don't really want to compete with China and India for oil and coal to heat my home or drive my car.

I don't disagree with that. But, the reality is, the technology doesn't exist now. There are problems that need to be addressed now, such as unemployment, an increase in tax revenue. I think everyone can agree that more jobs means more tax revenue, regardless of their politics.

There are bigger fish to fry than trying to heat our homes and fuel our cars with unicorn piss.
