New ad ties Romney to cancer death - The Washington Post

A new ad from a super PAC supporting President Obama ties former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney to a family’s loss of health insurance and a woman’s subsequent death from cancer.

It’s the fourth hard-hitting ad from Priorities USA Action that focuses on former workers at companies closed by Romney’s former private equity firm, Bain Capital.
So Romney caused this woman's death!! This is what Obama or one his PAC friends is pushing. Obvious Romney himself pulled the lever and injected this woman with cancer. The Stage IV cancer develop right after the husband lost his job.

Ya its pretty sad where American politics has gone, and even sadder than people accept this kind of political speech the only criticism you'll find for these kinds of ads is from the party of the other guy who of course has hundreds of similar ones himself.

Yup, Romney's campaign is the nastiest in history!!! Oh, wait....

Every day, a new low is reached by our future leaders. It's just heartbreaking. I heard that ad today and for a few minutes, I thought about voting for Romney because I was so offended. But no doubt the GOP will shortly accuse Obama of being a Russian spy and we'll be balanced back out.

The real horror is that there must be some people dumb enough to listen to this garbage and be swayed by it. Pathetic.

Some said Obama had killed thousands, and I spoke against it. Go look and see for yourself. I don't think anyone even noticed what I said.

So, he's like radioactive or something? WHY DIDN'T THIS GET VETTED IN THE PRIMARY?

Why are you telling me that? I wasn't accusing you of anything in that post, but I did see that post and you were right. But again, that post wasn't directed against you in any way

Specklebang!! I often agree with your posts--a great deal of the time, actually. And now I find out you're an Obama supporter. Who knew??!! ;)

It is a superPAC ad, not an Obama ad. It is sad, but this is going on alot, and is going to get worse. By law, the candidates cannot control what superPACs do, so they can go as vile as they want, and the candidate can say, rightly, that he has no control over it. In fact, the candidate can say that he opposes such an ad, and in doing so gives the ad even more exposure.

Oh, no, I'm definitely not an Obama supporter. I did vote for him in 2008 and cried the night of his victory. Unfortunately, he's been a great disappointment to me.

I'm pretty much an equal opportunity basher at this point. I like Romney (sort of) but I don't like his party, not at all. Plus, I must admit, Romney seems to have been too rich for too long and I can't get enthused about him.

This year, I'll be voting 3rd party for the first time in my life.

When either candidate is the victim of scurrilous attacks, I defend them. They have enough wrong with them without making **** up.

Hoe that cleared things up.:)

I should add that my first dismay with Obama was the re-engagement of Geithner and Bersnakey. It seemed very puppet-like.

Funny when a superpac on the right just thought about putting ads about the Rev. Wright, the media and Obama supporters went after Romney and made him disavow a non-ad ad. Now dems and the media say nothing Obama can do. So I guess you would be fine if a superpac put out ads on Wright, Holder letting the new panther party off the hook, the Obama land deal with that crook who went to jail in Chicago, maybe throw in the fact that we have a president who was (maybe is, need to ask Reid) a doper.

Nothing is to low as long as it comes from super pacs gotya. Nothing Romney could do about it.

This isn't good for Obama. These kinds of ads failed Dewhurst in Texas even though he out spent his opponent greatly. In fact, the ad was very similar. He ran an ad claiming Cruze murdered some woman's poor drug dealing son. Voters are more educated now and they won't buy into loose associations like this. If anything, there will be a back lash.

Try to remember who the Obama campaign is talking to. His base probably could not tell you who the VP is much less if this ad is full of lies.

Hint: I speak for me. Complicated, but true. I am not responsible for what the other random guy on the internet said that you want to reference, nor is he responsible for what I say, nor are you responsible for what any one else says. Welcome to the wonderful world of personal responsibility, which is a liberal ideal.

This is the upshot of Citizens United -- that decision that was lauded by Republicans and reviled by Democrats. Be careful what you wish for, I guess.

Yeppers! I try to be fair as well. "Equal Opportunity Basher" -- love it!

I don't know what is worse-this crap or the Move On appeal to class envy over the Romney's Olympian Horse

I hate to sound uncharitable but if the asswipe who made that claim were to get some nasty disease it would be proper Karma

So, he's like radioactive or something? WHY DIDN'T THIS GET VETTED IN THE PRIMARY?

Romney is really Dr. Manhattan?

Should this make us more or less likely to want to vote for him?

Wait are you comparing Reverend Wright to this blatant dishonesty? Wow a new low from the left.

lol

I might be the only one whom is not bothered by negative ads such as these. That does not mean I would support running this particular ad since its last line is especially low.

But it is not as though past political campaigns did not run ads that made claims that were any worse. Off the top of my head there are two ads from Lyndon Johnson that are equivalent to this. First, there is the Daisy ad that claimed if Barry Goldwater were elected he would cause a nuclear holocaust. The other was an ad that claimed the Ku Klux Klan was an ally of Goldwater. That is not even going into ads from other campaigns like Willie Horton that are just as sleazy. Going further back throughout American presidential elections are rife with similar claims.

Politics is an incredibly dirty business; it always has been and always will be. Unfortunately, ads like this is an outgrowth from that that I do not think will ever go away.

LOL Like your side wouldn't do all of that if they thought it was to their advantage. I say go for it. Nominate Donald Trump for VP while your at it. Race baiting will only increase Obama's margin of victory.

So you think Romney really cared about the people that Bain laid off? Bain was about making money. He would have been a failure if he worried about eveyones job and benefits. You can't deny that and that's why his "skills" do not make him good President.

So you accuse of race baiting by nominating Donald Trump for VP before hes even nominated? Not to mention hes not going to be the VP.

I award you this picture for your logical reach that is apparently going through a wormhole into another reality to justify itself.
