still talking about this? I wouldnt worry about it too much, in the UK protestors gave Churchills statue a grass mohawk. He replaced it with another bust of a US president, its not liek he spat on the Union Jack.

Thank you for expressing your views and please don't be intimidated by the ham-fisted right-wingers on this board. The 3rd Reich is to the left of them. Be comforted to know that at least you are not looking at a Govt. that is being stacked with personalities like Vance by billionaires who want to destroy the New Deal and make America into a nation of slaves and beggars. The right is going all in this year and hopefuly the voters will see their game and send them packing. I put my bet on the American people and I rarely lose.

"On loan" means exactly what the words imply - temporary. Is the "loan" on your house or car "special"? Or does the bank consider it an "insult" when you don't repay the loan and they have to foreclose on your mortgage or repossess your car?

This issue is stupid. First and foremost, it wasn't the British government that was insulted per the linked article in the OP. It was a Washington Post columnist. Why the Obama Administration rushed to apologize or even care what some columnist had to say about the matter is rather ridiculous IMO.

Second, it was a second bust of Churchill that was on loan from Britain, not a gift. At some point, it had to be returned and that transaction really should have been conducted by the GW Bush Administration. Since it wasn't, that responsibility fell on the Obama Administration. So, unless there's an article somewhere in this thread that illustrations Britain's displeasure with the White House sending the bust back, I see this as a rather weak effort to stir up controversy where none exists.

This is comical beyond words. My first comment on this thread is to point out what ****s BOTH sides are...both for the phony Churchill outrage and the Romney comments...comments which...apparently they are SO upset about hey can't even express why.

And a nation of slaves and beggars? **** that...it's what we HAVE. You and your ilk are doing that job just fine. No...I want to see us as a nation of prosperity.
