This is an AWESOME lie! As the politicians have already shown us, the truth means absolutely nothing. If you repeat a plausible lie over and over, idiots will start to believe it. If Romney's gonna keep on hammering that lie about Obama's "no man is an island" thing, then unaccountable super PACs need to repeat this lie until the public's ears bleed.
The only way Romney can defend against this lie is to actually release his tax returns, which he won't until the cost-benefit scale tips the other way. It would be interesting to see how much damage Mitt (Legally-Paid-No-Taxes) Romney is willing to take to keep his taxes hidden.
"Harry's gonna have to describe who it is he spoke with because of course that's totally and completely wrong," Romney said Thursday in the radio interview. "It's untrue, dishonest and inaccurate. It's wrong. So I'm looking forward to have Harry reveal his sources and we'll probably find out that it's the White House."
yes, for a brief moment romney finally held the moral high groundI definitely don't think Reid should have said what he did, but Romney also said something I found amusing yesterday in defending himself/attacking Reid:
Lol, you'd think in blasting someone for making unfounded accusations you'd try not to do the same thing in the exact same sentence.
 even Jon Stewart and Anderson Cooper are ripping Dems up and down about this buffoonery.
Funny.
Reid's attack without specifics has turned me towards Romney.
If Romney released more past tax returns, how would that influence your decision on who to vote for?
It is pathetic that some want to make this a major issue. Seems like jobs, economy, debt, wars, illegal immigration, are much more import to find out where the person stands. But hey, each to his own.
This is an important issue because it goes to the heart of what kind of character RINO Romney has. If he has paid his taxes and everything is above board and legit, then he has nothing to worry about. If he is trying to hide his associations/afillations or covering something up (like not paying his taxes for ten year - or possibly not paying his 10% tithing to the Mormon church) then that would show his lack of character and integrity. This country DOES NOT need a POTUS of weak character right now...or ever!
Paul said:“It’s a shame. The important issue is [what] the two candidates seem to agree on. They don’t really disagree with militarism overseas, they don’t disagree with the Federal Reserve system and the bailouts, and they don’t disagree on basically whether the role of federal government is wealth redistribution through welfare. So instead, they’re talking about tax returns and that to me is so disappointing,” he said. “It’s all a charade, I think it’s all contrived to not have a debate.”

Is the IRS going after Romney? If not, would you not think his tax filings are proper?
I don't see the CT that you do.
Holy dishonest! I just watched the Stewart segment since I was almost sure you where making this up, and sure enough, he did not "rip democrats up and down", he ripped on Harry Reid(you know, he is the individual making the claim). The only other people ripped by Stewart in that segment is FOX news.
OH, and found the Anderson Cooper transcript, and guess what, he too believes in personal responsibility and is not low enough to try and attack a political party for one man, so you made that one up too. Let me give you the sources(funny how you made it a point not to).

*idle speculation*
let's say willard's tax returns were rife with errors, all working to his personal financial advantage
and the IRS went after him, as with any other cheating taxpayer
what would the reich wing have to say - scream - about that
the IRS could not disclose the multitude of errors and omissions in willard's filings because such public disclosure is not permitted short of courtroom testimony
so, the teabaggers and other wingers would then insist that such prudent enforcement action by the IRS was actually illegitimate manipulation by Obama and his political appointees
Obama would realize this and could not allow the IRS to go do its work on willard
but he also knows that romney is quite vulnerable IF those tax records were exposed to the public
there being no public hue and cry about willard's refusal to disclose his tax records
someone had to smoke him out publicly
what slimeball politician [i repeat myself] would be willing to lie publicly to pressure willard to expose his tax information
and that brings us to this event
i thought it was more explicitso you are implicitly assuming that Obama is the first President since Nixon to be dirty enough to break into his opponents' IRS records?
and where was the IRS in the last 4 years that Romney has been running? Where was it when he was Governor?
 even Jon Stewart and Anderson Cooper are ripping Dems up and down about this buffoonery.
Isn't Reid the same joker that said the war was lost?
Isn't Reid the same joker that said the war was lost?
Actually I watched this segment, and Anderson was definitely ripping up on the Reid supporter(s). But I like how you continue to insist that anyone who points out something you dislike is lying. It must be nice to live in your world, where confirmation bias is just reality. I imagine it probably looks much like NP's world.
i thought it was more explicit
the IRS commissioner would have to notify Obama before proceeding against Obama's opponent
So in your world, saying something that did not happen is honesty? Cuz that is exactly what you did.

that is incorrect, as demonstrated by your own provided transcript. But I like how you are desperately leaping onto anything to change this subject.
Well, funnily enough, a search of the term "democrat" does not show where he did what you claim.
Ah, apparently you lack the same background knowledge available to everyone else in this forum. Allow me to help you:
Harry Reid is a Democrat. Paul Begala is a Democrat. The idiots on this forum defending Reid are by and large Democrats. Apparently you didn't know this - but now you know, and knowledge is power!
anywho, I continue to enjoy how you continue to desperately try to distract from Reid making a fool of himself.
