Poll: Global warming and taxing the rich rank low on voters’ radar

While issues like federal deficits, spending, corruption and terrorism rank high among voter concerns, environmental issues and raising taxes on the wealthy do not.

A new Gallup poll shows that only 21 percent of Americans see combating environmental issues, like global warming, and increasing taxes on the wealthy as “extremely important” priorities. In contrast, 19 percent of Americans believe climate change is “not important” for the president to address and 27 percent believe the same for raising taxes on the wealthy.

Likewise, 32 percent of Obama supporters see raising taxes on the wealthy as an “extremely important” issue, 22 percentage points higher than the share of Romney supporters who also believe so.

The highest priorities were creating jobs, reducing corruption and reigning in the federal budget deficit, according to the poll. However, the when the data is broken down between Obama and Romney supporters, top priorities change.

As James Carville said to the Bush Sr campaign.....it's the economy stupids! A whole 32 percent of OBAMA supoporters think raising taxes on the wealth as very important! How out of touch can Obama's campaign be? They seem to be making their own agenda, the countries agenda. They will find out the very hard way in November what they founf in Nov 2010. Ignore what the people want and you won't be in office very long. 63 House Democrats and 6 Senate Democrats found that out the hard way in Nov 2010. Nov 2012 will be part deux.

Another interesting tidbit in that poll is the "biggest" concerns. The Economy and corruption. The latter being the kicker. Libor/Geitner, Green Energy cronyism, F & F, etc might very well be leaching into the public's radar.

I'd say if this trend grows, Obama is in deep trouble.

The funny thing is, even if they raised taxes on the rich to 90%, it wouldn't make any jobs or help the economy. Idiots the whole lot of them.

They know taking a little from the masses in the middle yields much more money to waste.
