The Striking Lack Of "Obama 2012" Bumper Stickers This Election Season

Well, I ordered an Obama bumper sticker and it never arrived. So, perhaps they have a problem with the system. Oh, well, I may pick one up when we go to the state fair in August. I generally try to stick them up in a non-permanent way, because I can't stand cars with a million bumper stickers. Really dislike the "baby on board stickers" and the decals with all the stick families. They may as well have a sticker that says "Distacted driver. Look out".

Wow, that should tell you something. The man you want to vote for can't even keep his promise to send you a lousy bumper sticker. Maybe you should look into other things he hasn't done that he said he would do.

I live in the Washington DC suburbs (MD), inarguably one of the more staunch liberal bastions in the nation. I moved here in January 2009, exactly 2 days before Barack Obama was to be sworn in as the 44th President. When driving around the 495 Beltway and beyond, I couldn't help but notice the amazing number of "Obama/Biden 2008" bumper stickers and the array of other pro-Obama paraphernalia adorning cars. The support for the president-elect was beyond palpable.

Fast-forward to 2012, and I RARELY ever see an Obama bumper sticker. In fact, i've made it a personal challenge to look at cars as I drive around to see if I can register any outward support for the guy. Let me tell you, it is nearly non-existent. Will the people of the DC-area still pull the lever for Obama/Biden in November? Without a doubt. But let it be known that the pure lack of excitement for this failed President is very evident......so much so that Obama bumper stickers are hardly anywhere to be found.

If that's not a sad commentary on the leadership of this President compared to the Hope N Change Magic Carpet Ride of 2008, then I don't know what is!!!

Obama himself said it, if he couldn't turn the economy around in 3 years he'd be a one term proposition. He was right.

Indeed. Back in 2008 the enthusiasm was so high for Obama that I did not put a McCain sticker in my car for fear of getting it vandalized.

I don't recall seeing a lot of Romney stickers out there. OTOH, Republicans don't go big for that sort of thing. The car with a bajillion bumper stickers on it seems to be a liberal phenomenon.

How are all the stickers on that windshield legal?

One of my favorites -

My favorite was one I saw in Tucson many years ago, "If we outlaw guns, then how can we shoot the liberals".

Seems like that expresses the mentality of the far right very well!

Another one to the point -

I prefer sarcastic bumper stickers to political ones anyways. I'm always particularly fond of those poking at vegetarians

Someone bring me a steak.

There are less Obama bumper stickers now because his supporters lost jobs and can't afford the foreign cars to put them on any longer. (In 2008, I never saw a single on on an American car, ever)

I'm assume only the folks that wanted detroit to go bankrupt drive american cars.

surprised no one has posted this yet,

I have noticed that the "No" would be really easy to scratch off those NoBama bumper stickers. Not that I am advocating doing this, it would just be very easy to do. Just sayin.................

not as easy as buying an Obama stickered car at a bank auction though...

It's funnier just to cover the whole NoBama sticker with one of those Rainbow Pride stickers. They will worry about how long they were driving around with it on their vehicle before they saw it.

When I was stationed in Korea, they had a car there called the "pride". Our LT had one, and as a joke we put "gay" above the pride emblem in vinyl letters. He rode around in that thing for weeks before the Col saw it, and chewed him out for it.

We got 2 of those stupid "His boots, her flops, a perfect pair" stickers, cut the flops off, then put the two boots on our Lieutenant's care. The dude drove around for like a week with them on there. Had no clue. We put it on his back, passenger side window. This was right after DADT was repealed too. Friggin hilarious.

I never met an LT that wasn't an easy target for pranks and jokes. I was going to prank the Major one time, but someone beat me to it, and it was better him than me.

I thought about this thread today after seeing an Obama/Biden bumper sticker today here in California and it was 1/3rd the size of the normal size stickers like in 08? Maybe subtle advertising like Nike did for a long time or like Phillip Morris. Maybe his commercials will start doing that with their names not being mentioned but rather in small text on the bottom of the screen...

There is no doubt there is alot less enthusiam for Obama in 2012 than 2008 and any partisan recognizes that...but to say theres less bumper stickers is just silly and to judge the enthusiasm or lack of by how many bumper stickers you see in your small world is even sillyer

Maybe the bumper stickers are made in China and Harry Reid took issue with that...
