I guess it's a little different when the shoe is on the other food

Facing questions about why she and other top Congressional officials won’t release their tax returns
, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) downplayed her previous demands for presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney to release his, calling the issue a distraction.

As recently as Wednesday, Pelosi had strongly urged Romney to provide further disclosure of his tax returns. But today, while maintaining Romney should release more documents because of “custom” and “tradition,” Pelosi said the issue was trivial compared with economic issues...

“Some people think the same standard should be held to the ownership of the news media in the country who are writing these stories about all of this. What do you think of that?” she asked.

:D sounds like someone is a little defensive, and doesn't want alot of stories about her special-IPO deals.

From your post:

I like that, "custom" and "tradition", meaning who cares, especially when Pelosi is asked to provide her tax returns showing all her hypocritical investments. But I give her credit for stating the issue is trivial compared with the economic issues. Something AdamT should take notice from one of his party leaders.

Custom and Tradition is 2 years or none. Case closed.

Has anyone asked Obama to provide his college records, high school records, why his law license was pulled,

Now you want his HIGHSCHOOL records? lol

Has anyone asked Romney to provide his college and highscool records?

Re: his law license, it was not "pulled". It's a matter of public record that Obama voluntarily retired his law license, which is what a lot of people do so they can stop paying bar fees after they've decided they don't intend to practice again.

Whey would they? His campaign isn't based on him being a smart guy.

and we cant see Obamas school records either.. but he is a GENIUS...LOL.. or his teleprompter is..

No, you've stated that Romney's campaign is based on his business cred, hence the "requirement" for showing more tax returns.

Well I don't think he's running on the basis of being a STUPID businessman.

all this tell me ins Pelosi is nervous they may want to scrutinize her tax records...

Pelosi was a dumbass for commenting on this, living in the glass House that she does.

That said, I don't think it's irrational to impose a higher standard on presidential candidates than we do on House candidates.

Wonder if she deducted botox as a medical expense

House Leadership. When she was Speaker, she was the third person in line for the Presidency.

Speaking of distractions . . . . . :coffeepap

You cant? or wont acknowledge the difference between an someone campaigning for office and disclosure and wanting to be president and keeping it secret, to individuals already elected ? Once their elected the people should have already vetted their finances...This isnt a defense of Pelosi...I cant stand her...but lets acknowledge the huge difference

I do, with caveats. House membership draws up all the spending bills. I want to know what companies they invest in and how they invest our money in turn. Every bit as relevant as Presidential returns imo.

House members are reelected every two years - Nancy Pelosi is running for office in 2012, and the office she is running for is third-in-line for the Presidency, and the leader of a co-equal branch of government.

What's your investment in all this?

In all what? Making fun of wild distractions just gives me a little smile. I wouldn't call it an investment. You?
