This is a hypothetical question.
Let's assume the GOP brings out the "perfect" candidate. A hard-working average Joe. Someone who's completely devoid of skeletons in his closet. Never cheated on taxes, or his wife. Never took a bribe. Never crawled in bed with lobbyists or special interest groups. Someone so squeaky clean, it would be impossible to sling mud at him, except to say that he has no presidential experience (obviously).
We know this is hypothetical because someone like this, in the political arena, doesn't exist. Not on either side. Not by a long shot. Our politicians are as dirty and crooked as the leaf springs under a '62 Buick.
That aside, here's the question....What exactly could Obama run on, as a campaign strategy? What has he (himself) done to expand the lives, liberties and opportunities for the citizens of the United States to pursue happiness? What benefit has he been, aside from just "not being George Bush?"
