Ok right wingers. We have all heard you bash the President at every turn. I have heard He is the worst President since Jimmy Carter. I have heard from the uneducated right that He is not an American or a christian. I have heard from the smarter right that the President is a western European socialist and I have heard you right wingers try to blame all this bad economy on Him nevermind the fact that the right owns this mess just as much as the left. Now the witch hunts are starting but with no luck.

In spite of all this right wing hystera the President is doing well with the electotial collage and if the election was helt today the president would win big time. The bottom line is it is not working my right wing friends. The President is ahead in almost all swing states and all those tea baggers who are mad over Obamacare would not have voted for Him in the first place. The fact is all your so called outrage is only being covered by FOX news and right wing radio.

The bottom line is it is not working. You nominated a stiff and all the phony outrage is turning off the American people. Here on the west coast we will never vote for Romney unless you go out in the sticks and we outnumber those rednecks. You better get to work my right wing friends.

The only two polls that matter are the ones on election day and the one the hot stripper is dancing on.

Pay no attention to anything else.

Does it matter who captains the Titanic?

Re: As much as the right bad mouths the President He is still doing well in swing sta

Florida
Obama +1.8

Ohio
Obama +2.6

North Carolina
Romney +1.2

Virginia
Obama +2.4

New Hampshire
Obama +5.7

Michigan
Obama +1.8

Wisconsin
Obama +3

Iowa
Obama +2.5

Missouri
Romney +3

Colorado
Obama +3

Nevada
Obama +5.3

Pennsylvania
Obama +8

Oregon
Obama +8

So New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Nevada and Oregon show him with a considerable lead. All of the others are extremely close. I wouldn't call that doing "very well".

Not when the engineering staff refuse to listen to him. I have absolutely no doubt that the Republicans have been deliberately damaging the economy to prevent his reelection.

You're so positive about this. I love it. I remember once asking a guy if he thought the glass was half full or half empty. He replied "neither". I was weirded out and he said "It's completely full, 50% water, and 50% is air." - You can't beat that kind of logic. Same here.

Yep, he has a lead but it could turn very quickly. Nothing has really changed. IMO this election will be decided based on the trajectory of the economy leading up to the election. The economy is dragging butt right now and if that continues Obama will be in trouble. OTOH, we've seen this pattern for several years, where the economy dips in the late spring and summer and then picks up at the end of the year. If that happens again I think Obama will be reelected.

I'm positive about the current polling numbers from RCP? Yeah. They're known to be pretty accurate.

A margin of error of +/- 2 points means most of the battleground states are within contest, which doesn't mean Obama is "doing well in the swing states".

Not sure what your actual implication was there, but if your post was an attempt to take a cheap shot it should have been more direct.

Romney hasn't picked a VP yet and hasn't started campaigning fully yet. It's way too early to tell. We haven't had the first debate yet either.

...which gives him 231 electoral votes with 126 in play.... he needs two states, of which he has leads in six or seven, Romney has to run the table. Though I agree with the point that today's polls do not matter... they have a bit more meaning today than they did in January, and will have more meaning in September than today. I still would rather be working for the Obama campaign than the Romney. If the Reps were smart, they would spend their money on the Senate and House races and fund the Presidential race out of surplus.

Maybe. Only posterity can tell.

I think liberals face something much more difficult to deal with than conservatives. The end of the American dominated era of world history and the conclusion of Pax Americana.

Aka keep your head buried in the sand.

Everybody seriously following the election is watching the polls. They're not perfect but they're close. Generally the only people who dismiss them are people trying to keep a positive outlook in the face of unfavorable estimates.

What is honest and accurate is the theory that sentiment does change and the conventions and the debates, that haven't happened yet could change things. Right now if the election is today Obama is back in for 4 more years however.

I am not counting my chickens yet but just trying to make the point that despite all the venom coming from the right the President seems to doing pretty good in spite of it.

Here in Washington state the President is up double figures.12% last time I checked. Why is the West coast so liberal while the midway and the southeast so right wing? It freaks me out sometime. Are we really that divided?

Actually just about any poll right now really IS worthless. Until Romney picks a VP and debates happen, as well as numerous factors, all these polls really mean nothing.

It's not that people have their heads buried in the sand, they just aren't taking seriously polls that measure the first mile in a 50 mile race.
