What is Obama's economic plan to help people buy a thingamajig for their furnace?

Is this his appeal to the "common folk" to garner votes, or is he just another common folk himself?

You decide.

Where is that pesky teleprompter when you need it?

Seems like an attempt to turn a miscue into a bit of humor, somehow I don't feel this is thread worthy.

Just goes to show how messed up the economic plan is.

Let's give people money so they can keep companies in business.

It's like they're trying to enslave the supply-side of the equation without the supply side knowing it and spoiling the demand side in the process...

...all for a thingamajig. What a world we live in. Keep companies busy making thingamajigs by giving away free money.

We all could use the $3000...

However, the US Govt can't afford to be handing it out... and unfortunately, if Obama has his way, the Bush Tax Cuts expire, and $3K is about what we will have taken from us in the tax hike that results...

Furthermore... if they're small businessman, they're more than likely not doing a thing with their furnace... they'd be putting the $3000 to the business... which, in the business world... $3000 over the course of the year is a small pittance... which makes this just as much a gimmick as the Buffett rule was...

Too many programs. Programs after programs after programs of programs. The USG has lost track of their programs and their tax codes. It's a mess and they just keep adding to it.

We really need to turn this over to an AI. Maybe there's a Program for the AI program by now, if we can only find it.

Enslave the supply-side of the equation? Really? :lamo

Yes, I'm sure businesses just hate it when their customers have more money to spend on stuff.

Look, business owners don't create jobs. Customers do. The way to get the economy turned around is to get people to buy things. The demand will create the jobs, the jobs get people more money, then people spend more of their own accord.

That type of thinking is exactly what led to credit so easy that irresponsible people had it. And then of course defaulted.

Wait, you mean the President isn't an HVAC technician? No wonder they keep hanging up on me.

Wait, do you mean that businesses create jobs based on economics? You mean if they need to up production to meet demand, THEN they hire people? I thought they created jobs out of the goodness of their hearts...

they create them out of the goodness of their heart, towards their wallet:2razz:

one reason they need more employees to meet demands.

reason number 2,they made too much money!!!!!!america is the only country i can think of where a small business makes money from losing money come tax time.

To make an issue out of this video is one of the most idiotic things I have ever seen on DP.

I wonder if his thingamajig is as big as his stick?

See...that's the difference between Democrats and Republicans.

Republicans believe that tax breaks and money should go to corporations and the weathy with the hope/expectation that at least a little of it will "trickle down" to the middle and working class.

Democrats believe that tax breaks and money should go to the middle and working class with the idea that they will spend it, which will in turn benefit the wealthy and the corporations.

Knowing that....you just have to decide for yourself which party has the better ideas.

Nothing surprising that some of the sheeple would feel that way.

Obama's latest gaffe is just another of many. Remember these?

And then there's the one about Obama visiting the 57 US states with Alaska and Hawaii to go. But hey, no news here. :sinking:

The desperation on your part is pretty unbelievable.

There's plenty you can use against Obama, stuff like this is just idiotic.

You heard it here, folks: tax cuts lead to loan defaults.

Obamanomics 101: Let's borrow some more money from China, give it away to the people and that will stimulate the economy. You see, they will spend it on thingamajigs or watchmacallits and create (or save) jobs. If we tax the people more, that will clue them in that we are spending like drunken sailors on meth, but if we just borrow it then we look like Santa Claus and those GOP tightwads will look like the Grinches. Yes we can! Forward (to the debt cliff)!

This story is as meaningless as the one that discussed Gore' schtick...
