This is a startling poll and the White House has responded by saying that the NY Times and CBS don't know what they're doing. It's fun to watch the thin skinned Obama administration attempt to handle a tiny bit of adversarial news put out by a couple of their most loyal, ardent supporters in the msm.

The Obama campaign is criticizing today's New York Times/CBS News poll, which suggests that Mitt Romney is leading among female voters and that two-thirds of voters think Obama supported same-sex marriage "for political reasons."

Forty-six percent of the 615 surveyed said the would vote for Mitt Romney, against 43 percent for the president. 46 percent of women also said they would vote for Romney, versus 44 for the president.

But the principle issue for the Obama campaign is the motivation behind his support for same-sex marriage: 67 percent of those polled said he made his decision "for political reasons," against just 24 percent who said he did so because he thinks it is right.

"The methodology was significantly biased," Stephanie Cutter, Obama's deputy campaign manager, said on MSNBC this morning. "It is a biased sample."

It must be some form of Stockholm-like syndrome from the rapecious(sic) war on women.

This could seal it for Romney if it holds......Hussein Obama won the woman's vote by 14% in 2008.

Poll shows Romney leads among women, media largely silent - Spokane Conservative | Examiner.com

A new CBS/New York Times poll released Monday evening shows Romney leading Obama among women voters 46 - 44 percent in an eight point switch from April when the President led 49 - 43 percent.

Here are some other interesting tidbits from the poll:

Obama Favorable to unfavorable: 45/45
Romney Favorable to unfavorable: 31/38

Obama approval rating 50 %, was 48 in April

Damn NP, that sounds like some really bad news for you. Funny you would promote this poll. In fact, there is more bad news for you:

Is the economy improving: 36 % yes, 24 % worse, 39 % staying the same. In January, only 28 % thought the economy was improving, and in April 35 %.

Thanks for sharing this poll NP. If I was Romney, it would have me very worried.

No worries. The White House has informed us that the NY Times and CBS are incompetent and incapable of conducting an accurate poll. But most of us already knew that. lol

One thing the Liberals can not say is the polling agencies are bias...........CBS and the NY Times are 2 of the most left wing organization there are and both are big cheerleaders for Hussein Obama.............I really believe if this holds then Hussein Obama will lose in 2012........He already is way behind with white men.......

Oh look, it's the juvenile "Hussien Obama" crap again. You do know what Hussien means, so why do you keep referring to Obama as pretty boy Obama? Inquiring minds want to know.

Not exactly unreported as you implied in your post, quite the opposite in fact, but on a serious note this is great news for Romney, and surprising to boot. Still a long ways out though, interested to see if this trend continues.

And he's REALLY REALLY REALLY way behind with grumpy old angry white men......

Fixed.

10 chars.

I keep hearing that he leads among married women, but Obama strongly carries single women. So, I guess that makes sense that Romney would have a slight edge. IDK - after the 2004 election, I've been wary about polls. I checked them like every day, and Kerry lead for months in almost all the polls leading up to the election.

Too damned funny. You're professing the credibility of the NYT. Oh the delicious irony that has escaped your limited intellect.

"Hussein" is his middle name, Barack Hussein Obama II, so referring to the President by his middle name might be a little disrespectful to the office of the presidency but it's STILL his name.

The fact of the matter is that the media is more progressive than conservative, and refuses to report the news similarly between the two main political parties. I'm not saying the media needs to be conservative, don't get me wrong, the media should hold no bias and report the facts of the day DESPITE if they are positive or negative towards a "preferred" political party.

When George W. Bush was President and gas prices were through the roof, it was on the news every single day, story after story on it. Not until recently did the media start reporting on the gas prices in the country and even still didn't do so with the amount of rage that was expressed when George W. Bush was in office. Where's the media reporting on the expansion of the wars done under Obama? The Iraq War was constantly used to beat over the head of George W. Bush. Where is the media's reporting on $5 trillion in 3 years added to the national debt under the Obama Administration, when George W. Bush added $4 trillion in 8 years they couldn't STOP beating him over the neck?

I believe that George W. Bush's administration was one of the worst administrations of all time. No fiscal responsibility by taking us to war, cutting taxes, adding a new healthcare entitlement AND growing the federal government beyond measure in areas such as education and more. George W. Bush's administration was clearly RINO (Republican In Name Only) and didn't resemble anything closely related to a conservative approach to governing.

With that being said, the Obama administration is basically the 3rd term of George W. Bush. All of the Bush tax cuts were extended throughout this administration, most of the foreign policies of George W. Bush are still in place during this administration which also led to the eventual capture of Bin Laden. Obama, like Bush, passed a new healthcare entitlement. Obama, like Bush, expanded the federal government in areas such as education.

Both administrations have added $10 trillion to the national debt in 11 years, about $1 trillion a year on average being added to the national debt over the course of these two administrations.

The fact of the matter is that the media refuses to point out how horrible the Obama administration has been, just as it pointed out how horrible Bush's administration was. If they reported on the Obama administration and the real FAILURES that they have had, Obama would easily have George W. Bush like approval ratings of 30% or something similar at the moment.

For the life of me and even the liberals on this board have to admit, if Wallstreet would be at 13,000 with the job market staying at over 8.3% unemployment for years under a REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT, it would be hell on earth! All day all you would see in the media is how the Republican President only cares about Wallstreet which is evidenced by the "jumps" in the market, and how that Republican President could care less about Main Street which is evidenced by the high unemployment number.

Well, polls are polls. On the other hand, I agree about the media hyping and hiding as it suits their master's purposes. We just disagree on who the masters are.

Daily Kos: Breaking Fox Poll: Obama is Opening up a Can of Wup on Romney

I'll bet Fox doesn't spend two nanoseconds hyping this poll.

Right... but only when the CBS NYTimes poll doesn't agree with them... All throughout the spring that's been one of the major polls which was pushing an Obama advantage...

The Obama administration acts like a bunch of middle school kids...

Current Pollster average has a different result
2012 General Election: Romney vs. Obama | Latest Polls | Pollster | Huffington Post 2012 Election Dashboard

That shows the Daily KOS poll with a Romney Advantage...

Also for the people trying to tell Romney fans to be worried because of polls notice the large amount of "undecided" voters on these polls... I couldn't believe it either, but history shows that in EVERY election the "undecided" vote has broken against the incumbent 80%-20%... so even if you figure the undecided vote breaking 60%-40% against Obama, it swings the results heavily in Romney's favor...

(this is even before a long summer of people having to pay expensive AC bills, and the Gasoline for their road trips costs over $4/gallon... )
