Obama Is Crushing Romney In Karl Rove's New Electoral Map

Bush won, Gore lost, deal with it

Bush won; we all lost and we are all dealing with it. Its called a $1T+ annual deficit. If I recall, when Bush started, the budget was essentially balanced.

You have to be really bad to be bad as bush. By bad i mean having your brain lobotomized or being a member of the species Pan troglodytes. Obama is neither.

so what you are saying is that you, an obama worshipper, is smarter than I am?

War isn't cheap and freedom isn't free.

Bush attacked the countries that attacked us.

yeah about that it wasnt countries as much as a single country.the other well yeah kinda had everything to do with everything except attacking us.

Smarter obviously, and maybe next year when you’re in the fourth grade you will be taught the proper use and punctuation for contractions and capitalization.

I didn't know internet typing required immaculate grammar. Im sorry if you dont understand internet shorthand.

War isn't cheap and freedom isn't free.

Bush attacked the countries that attacked us.

Iraq did not attack us; and attacking Iraq had nothing to do with freedom. Sorry, but attacking Iraq and the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan were a waste of American lives, Iraqi and Afghan lives, american political capital and.... $1-3trillion dollars.

As a tribute to Mother's Day and in light of this discussion of meaningless wars, let me offer this proclamation by Julia Howe from 1870 about Mothers and war:

http://womenshistory.about.com/od/howejwriting/a/mothers_day.htm

Arise then...women of this day!
Arise, all women who have hearts!
Whether your baptism be of water or of tears!
Say firmly:
"We will not have questions answered by irrelevant agencies,
Our husbands will not come to us, reeking with carnage,
For caresses and applause.
Our sons shall not be taken from us to unlearn
All that we have been able to teach them of charity, mercy and patience.
We, the women of one country,
Will be too tender of those of another country
To allow our sons to be trained to injure theirs."

From the bosom of a devastated Earth a voice goes up with
Our own. It says: "Disarm! Disarm!
The sword of murder is not the balance of justice."
Blood does not wipe out dishonor,
Nor violence indicate possession.
As men have often forsaken the plough and the anvil
At the summons of war,
Let women now leave all that may be left of home
For a great and earnest day of counsel.
Let them meet first, as women, to bewail and commemorate the dead.
Let them solemnly take counsel with each other as to the means
Whereby the great human family can live in peace...
Each bearing after his own time the sacred impress, not of Caesar,
But of God -
In the name of womanhood and humanity, I earnestly ask
That a general congress of women without limit of nationality,
May be appointed and held at someplace deemed most convenient
And the earliest period consistent with its objects,
To promote the alliance of the different nationalities,
The amicable settlement of international questions,
The great and general interests of peace.

OK, got it...I graduated college 20 years before Al invented the internet...but I have always been taught that it is the little things that reveal a person's true intelligence...like spelling, grammar and punctuation. It always went something like ‘only ignorant lazy folks’ fail to utilize their education. It appears to be apt in this instance.

We had a very, very minor deficit of under $50B... which, in today's terms is no deficit. The smoke and mirrors was the Bush tax cuts and the Iraqi war, which wasn't suppose to cost the US taxpayer anything. The combination (plus unfunded Medicare Part D) created $.75T in annual deficit spending. Then, you threw in a recession that reduced revenues by $.4T and increased unemployment payments by $.1T and you get a running deficit of over $1.2T. This is the Bush financial legacy that you Republicans are so proud of....

Funny but the BEA tables do not support your numbers...

So then, according to you, Bush was a bumbling idiot..right?

Karl: "I know how to change this, hire me."

Thats what I think it really boils down to.

So then, according to you, Bush was a bumbling idiot..right?

If you say so as of course you know that spelling, grammar and punctuation are typically WRITTEN which is why your ‘bumbling’ description is misleading. I have never had the opportunity to read something HE wrote hence I cannot agree with your assertion. Maybe you can supply me with some original writings for review.

If you are referring to his public speaking, yes, at times he was a bumbling idiot!...stratigery, LOL

Ever hear of the "Bush Doctrine"? Look it up.

The Bush donctrine as it was practiced as a military doctrine was that countires that harboured terrorists would be treated as supporters of those terrorists.

There are no less than seven different interpretations of the Bush doctrine, most of them liberal. Why dont you ask Charlie Gibson which one he meant when he was talking to Palin? I can already see you telegraphing that punch.

Funny, it certainly does if you know what you are looking at... the attached is schedule 1.1 of the Budget. Note the 2008 deficit (before recession) was $.641T. The drop off in revenue caused by the recession was $.4T (from $2.5T in 2008 to $2.1T in 2009).... ok, so I have proved substantially all of my claim. Certainly its not a leap to think the core deficit (before recession and TARP and things) went from $.641T in 2008 to $.75T, as I claimed in 2009, but if you need, I can source that, even though its moot. I can also source the unemployment claim pick up from $50B in 2008 to $150B in 2009, if you need... but I have pretty much backed up my numbers. Care to back up your claim

BTW... I cited the last Clinton budget as having an under $50B deficit. It was $32B. So Bush went from $32B deficits to $1,250B deficits. Again, a legacy the Republicans can be proud of.

No, when you stated ‘$.75T in annual deficit spending’ I took it to mean that was the ‘standard’ Bush deficit, my mistake. The average deficit, per your chart, FOR ALL 8 OF THE BUSH YEARS was just shy of $500b. I believe it a stretch to increase it 50% to make a point but if you are good with that being ‘proved substantially all of my claim’ that’s your prerogative. Actually, your table has better numbers for both Bush and President Obama than mine.

And from your data, assuming the President is re-elected, what will the average deficit be for his 8 year tenure?…$1.1t, a 100% increase…but I’m sure that will be ‘Bush’s fault’ also.
