Romney: "Very Disappointing" For Obama to Politicize Bin Laden

again.. that banner was FOR THE CREW!!! They had completed a succesful and long mission... it was the DEMS that used that framed shot as fodder.. it was dispicable

BS......that talking point was created by the Bush administration to cover up the embarassment of their blunder. The craftly created and strategically placed banner were no mistake....

What about the several months of claiming that Kerry was "soft on terror"?

Or what about when Dick Cheney claimed that Obama being in office made it more likely that we would be attacked? How is Obama's ad (which I think is in bad taste) more over the top than ANY of that stuff?

Seems like par for the course political nonsense to me...

Although, personally, I expect more from Obama.

Kerry being accused of being "soft on terror" was a normal point to make, even if it was possibly ridiculous.

Cheney's belief that the US would be attacked because of Obama's election was a dumb comment.

I'm saying that the ad was different because it explicitly put someone in the past and presumed a course of action.

Incorrect..

Its obvious that this was a political move that BACKFIRED!!! It's not as if the Democrats made it up. It was a carefully staged event that was made to make Bush out to be some kind of war hero, and it backfired.

Bush DID say this IN that speech: "In the Battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed."

Take it for what it's worth, but his people put up the sign, and those words came out of his mouth. All this was done for a reason, and none of it was done by democrats.

Which is why Bush decided "Hey, I'll pull off a media stunt and crash their party. While I'm there, I'll make a speech wherein I declare we won the war."

So basically, he politicized the crew's accomplishment, and used their banner as his accomplishment. Is that what you're saying?

Yea, that's right. That's why Bush announced the end of major combat operations in Iraq, during a speech aboard that ship, with that very sign in the background. Sheesh.

He went to congratulate them on a jobe well done. Don't Presidents fly out to aircraft carriers to give speeches all the time?

LOL....some people, such as Travis, will believe anything....

What Romney means to say is " thats not fair we cant attack him on this issue"

Yes...9/11 is Clintons fault.. thats pretty well established..

This Lie would be funny if it were not a Lie! But, it's what I've come to expect from the right-wing nut farm.

Romney: "Very Disappointing" For Obama To Politicize Bin Laden Death | RealClearPolitics

I'm kinda with Romney on this one--at least that it shouldn't be a matter of pretending that Romney WOULDN'T have done it. To me, that's just silly. Romney had the exact right response: "Any thinking person would have done the same thing."

On the other hand, Bush got re-elected (or elected) solely on the fact that a SECOND major terrorist attack didn't happen on his watch. That "achievement" was the entire basis for his election campaign.

Obama is at least tied to having played a crucial role in getting something important accomplished, as opposed to Bush's claim to fame which was not screwing up again (which he just managed to do in other ways).

In any event, its got to be as fair as Republicans somehow claiming not having ANOTHER 9-11 as their "achievement."

I still don't know how ANYONE bought that...

It was politicized before hand. Remember people bitching about Clinton? Or are our memories just not that good?

The latter.

Republicans shifted the blame on the President for not targeting bin Laden earlier, just as Democrats trashed Bush and his administration for not preventing 9/11-months after he took office.

The partisan attacks just go around and around.

I hate it when politicians politicize stuff.

Why can't you Democrats give Bush the credit he deserves?

Thanks to Bush, there will never be another 9/11.

Thanks to Bush, Iraq will never attack us again.

I don't recall the navy guys pissing and moaning about Bush doing this but the Naval Special warfare guys and other members of "the best of the best" aren't happy with Obumble taking credit for what they did. Then again, people who have what it takes to be "the best of the best" generally don't buy into the oozing appeal to mediocrity that Obumble and the dems peddle

Ummm how is that a lie? what did Clinton do to protect us after the first attack on the WTC? ..

When will conservatives learn that Iraq didn't attack us? With the word "again" you imply they did.

I guess good ones do.. and ones that the military respects..

You must despise Clinton then...
