That's certainly a interesting translation, not rooted in reality, logic, or factual events but interesting nonetheless.

With the economy improving, the Republican presidential candidates are forced to pounce all over anything Obama says or does and make it an issue.

This is considered a weak Republican field of candidates and many of the "heavy hitters" have decided to wait it out until 2016.
