Newt To Force Brokered Convention So Palin Can Enter And Take Nomination From Mitt

That appears to be the strategy and we are starting to see Palin get involved a lot lately in this race. What I do remember is back in October she said this would be the most unconventional presidential race we have ever seen. I believe what has been happening is that she has been sitting back and plotting strategy so she can enter the race at a brokered convention. Newt has said he will go all the way to the convention. That hurts Romney and Santorum both delegate wise. Palin sees this. Mitt just can't pull away as a true front runner. Palin does have one hell of a grass roots base with the Tea Party and they do have influence. She is letting the current crop fight amongst each other and the media is fueling it. Lately there have been talks of a brokered convention everywhere and from what I heard the other morning on a prominent radio talk show, many people were calling in saying Palin is the one with enough passion and love for her country with guts to hit Obama hard on the issues and they were hoping she would enter. They were displeased with Romney, Gingrich and Santorum. I believe the callers to be right.

The current crop of GOP candidates don't spark enthusiasm or excitement or passion as Palin does. They don't attack Obama head on viciously like she does. Palins CPAC speech was phenomenal and the crowd gave her a standing ovation multiple times but the other candidates never get that type of response in their speeches. One thing is true. Team Obama are insecure about Palin. The proof was when they made a campaign attack ad last weekend against her, a civilian who isn't running for office as of now. All she did was voice her opinion about him not being vetted by the media. That is unheard of from a sitting president. Palin this whole time has been pushing Newt to stay in the race and promoting him as well as Ron Pauls domestic policies.

The woman is clever and smart. She used strategy without heavy financial assets to take on 2 prominent well seasoned political veteran politicians in the form of Gov Tony Knowles and Gov Frank Murkowski for the governorship of Alaska. She debated them 3 times on foreign policy, fiscal reforms, fishing industry, oil and gas energy and health care and beat them both and they out sourced her 5 to 1 money wise. She became the 14th person in our nations history to unseat a incumbent governor and endured a 90% approval rating. That's telling. As President Clinton stated a few weeks before the mid term elections when Palin was campaigning for her endorsements hitting democrat candidates and Obama hard on the issues, he went on national tv and warned democratic voters and candidates by saying "Don't underestimate this woman. She is resilient like me". He was right. She scored many victories with her endorsements and helped unseat several incumbents. I personally believe from what I am seeing and hearing that a brokered convention will happen and she will enter. Romney or Santorum are doomed if this happens. Palin will suck the air right out of their campaigns and take their delegates.

Deals are always made behind closed doors in politics. Newt knows he can't get it but he can split the votes between Romney and Santorum. That works in Palins favor if she enters. Remember, Ike was drafted at the GOP convention in the 50s.

Yea I was just thinking this but it would ensure a loss for repubs. Many voted against McCain because of Palin

Not true at all. Palin actually brought McCain ahead in the polls and helped him not get annihilated by being clobbered more on election night. Palin can actually beat Obama head to head. You ought to watch her debates with Governors Frank Murkowski and Tony Knowles. She was vicious attacking them. Her attacks on Obama during the mid terms brought pain and agony to Obama's endorsements and him to, especially on the death panels in his healthcare plan. Again, as President Clinton stated "Do not underestimate this woman. She is resilient like me".

Plain hurt McCain and she could never win against against obama

Actually your post is false. She boosted McCains numbers. She really did. She also drew record number crowds compared to him. What happened to McCain is that he made a fatal error of suspending his campaign to go back to Washington to deal with the bailouts. Palin was against this move. Obama used it to his advantage and attacked McCain as part of the problem and it worked. Never the less, she kept him from getting slaughtered on a massive scale on election night. Palin can whip Obama in the election if she entered. She did during the midterms with many of her endorsements.

Her own camp admits shes was a mistake and people in her own camp didnt vote because of her. SOrry, polls and reality doesnt equal votes. I can only answer for myself but nonone I know voted for McCain because of Palin. Lots liked her attacking nonsensical style for entertainment and rally emotion but non wanted her in the white house. ON the national stage she was a moron of huge proportions and that feeling was shared by her own camp.

She is what America needs. We need a non Washington Insider in office. She fits the bill. She doesn't take crap off anyone and exposes crony capitalism which is rampant in this country. The media falsely marginalized her and shape peoples perception of her in a negative light but people are actually waking up realizing she is not what they portrayed her to be. That is why there is all this talk of her entering the race. I welcome it for her stance on her knowledge of the oil and gas industry and her fiscal reforms.

The reason the elitist don't want her in the White House is because she would clean up corruption and crony capitalism and put people in jail like she did in Alaska. She even exposed corruption in her own party. She would not get destroyed in a presidential race. Obama has nothing positive to run on pertaining to his record. His vetting is just beginning. Also his documents pertaining to his birth certificate and selective service card have been confirmed forgeries by a authoritative law enforcement agency, the Maricopa County Sheriffs Department.

If the GOP is insane enough to give her the nomination, then my theory is that Obama has secretly enacted mind control on the entire Republican party, since her nomination would ensure his re-election more than Santorum's would. In 2008, McCain has little chance to win. When he chose Palin as his running mate, that little chance went to zero. Remember... probably the most important quality in a President is not what he knows, but how he uses information to make decisions. The FIRST decision that a candidate makes is who his running mate is. McCain choose Palin, a gaffe machine, completely inexperienced. This decision, fairly or unfairly, demonstrated McCain's decision-making abilities, showing them to be poor. In this sense, Palin hurt McCain's campaign.

Your post is totally untrue. McCain lost because he suspended his campaign and wouldn't expose Obama's radical ties. He was to nice and wouldn't attack Obama. Obama has made devastating decisions as president to this country. He can't run on his record at all. That is why he is going to deflect from the issues and cause racial strife and division this election season. Palin was way more qualified than he was. Her resume as Governor was outstanding when it came to governing dealing with budgets, fiscal reforms and oil and gas. Obama had never made a payroll.

McCain had no chance regardless of who he chose as his running mate. Palin demonstrated his poor decision making qualifications in the first decision he made. Obama's previous experience is irrelevant to the topic, here. The topic, as you have presented, is Palin. Palin's shortcomings as a candidate were exposed for the entire country in 2008. She'd be an excellent fundraiser because she has name recognition, but as a candidate, she's s joke.

Well, Shillie, you've really stirred them up with this thread...you have my gratz, dude.

Here's my take: (btw, I'm not a Republican)

1. Like any of the other Republicans, candidate or otherwise, she would be better in the Oval Office than Obama.

2. After the way the liberals...with the help of the liberal media...used their lies and smears to defeat McCain, I've suspected that the Republicans would use a "rope-a-dope" type tactic to combat the Democrats this time around. Your contention about a brokered convention being used to bring in another candidate would fall in line with my suspicions.

3. As to whether Palin is the one picked by a brokered convention...I have my doubts. She has been so smeared and vilified by the left to this point, that...even though I agree that she would make a great President...I don't think she could get elected. The left has poisoned any chances she might have once had.

4. There are other Republicans out there who would have more of a chance. Others who have stayed under the liberal radar, so to speak. I think one of them could be chosen.

At the present time, newt does not have the number of delegates to do this successfully.

There could be a brokered convention, but it would be more likely to happen if Gingrich dropped out so Santorum could win more states.

If there is a brokered convention, Palin will not be the nominee.

I don't see Newt taking a dive or sacrificing himself for anybody.
