If this data holds, there is absolutely no way republicans can win the white house. Obama is absolutely smashing the GOP in latino support, give him props for understanding the keys to winning elections. Also, this is a FOX NEWS poll, so I dont want to hear any "left wing media garbage" statements, this poll was done in the GOP's back yard.

Probably, which is exactly why the GOP wants to crack down on voter ID laws. Voter fraud is extremely rare and they know it, it has everything to do with suppressing voters who tend to vote democrat and nothing else. They know alot of non-english speaking hispanics would have a hard time getting the process to work for them. It's not like you just walk into the DMV and get an ID, you need a birth certificate, social security card, bank statement, the list goes on. Voter ID Laws = Putting a price on voting.

I don't find this surprising: The dems have done a good job, along with their latino allies, in convincing legal immigrants that attempts to stop illegal immigration is anti hispanic. Plus, the dems benefit from illegal voting

gearing policy that is favorable to a select constituency or demographic generally has a noticeable effect on who they vote for... this isn't rocket science.

Wow, thats all I can say.....wow.

its obvious-just google how many latino leaders have whined that cracking down on illegals is anti hispanic. Its no different than the civil rights pimps like Jackson and Sharpton claiming that when GOP politicians call for tougher attacks on urban street violence and crime as being "anti black"

Exactly. How many illegals and dead people had to vote in the last presidential election to give Democrats control of the White House?

I want proof of this, not speculation, proof. Proof that was presented in a court of law with a judgement ruled upon.

20 bucks says they favor Obama because he can tell the difference between chanting USA because you love your country instead of chanting it because there is a room full of Mexicans.

careful... when you demand such proof, someone usually demands the same of you when you make hyperbolic claims.... and you tend to make a ton of hyperbolic claims.

20 bucks says that no matter the room or the cause of chanting, Obama can turn it into a racial division campaign meme

Hispanics have done a pretty good job on their own of figuring out that Republicans don't like brown people. They've seen through the endless rationalizations and understand that, at the end of the day, Republicans want to go back to an Ozzie and Harriet, 1950s world that never existed, and that world doesn't include many people name Juan or Maria.

Andres Oppenheimer is a widely read columnist on hispanic issues:

Two new polls of Latino voters confirm what I have been writing for several months: Republican front-runner Mitt Romney is so unpopular among Hispanic voters that he would have a hard time winning the November elections.A nationwide poll of likely Hispanic voters released last week by Fox News Latino shows that if the election were held today, 70 percent of Hispanics would vote for President Barack Obama, while 14 percent would vote for Romney. The poll, conducted by telephone, has a margin of error of 2.7 percent.

A previous poll of registered Latino voters nationwide released Jan. 24 by the Univision television network shows that Obama’s approval rate among Hispanics is of 63 percent, compared to Romney’s 28 percent. The Univision poll’s margin of error is of 4.4 percent.

Funny that Mexican-Americans can't support Mitt since his dad was practically a native son.

It is almost like they are Michigan GOP voters or something....

I'm sure you'll learn all about it on Fox News. Why don't you go watch it right now?

the hysterical left equates welfare socialism with acceptance of minorities and opposing welfare socialism with bigotry

tell me counselor, why was Miguel Estrada obstructed from taking a seat on the DC court of appeals? we all have seen the evidence in was it Rockefeller's memo that oozed racism

A. Where's your proof that conservatives don't like Latinos?
B. Why do you Libs like to racebait, do you genuinly feel that conservatives and/or independents are racists?
C. Why do you call them brown people instead of hispanics or latinos?

A. Pay much attention to Arizona laws over the past few years?
B. As I'm not a "Lib" (U.S. version of liberal), this is my best guess, but the most likely reason people (liberal or otherwise) tend to consider conservative and conservative-independent leaning people more likely to subscribe to and participate in racism...is because so many conservative and conservative-independent leaning people subscribe to and participate in racism.
C. Most likely because conservatives (again, historically) put up less resistance to and hostility towards latinos in proportion to how strongly they present themselves as assimilated into "white" identity and norms.

There's an obvious theme here. MOST of the reason many people have an expectation that Republicans "don't like brown people" is because, historically, Republican policy positions have been more hostile to the interests of people of color than those of Democrats. (Note: "more hostile", not "hostile" vs. "not hostile"...Dems have plenty to answer for as well, but Dems have the luxury of winning the lesser-of-evils vote in terms of party alignment to racist oppression).

It's all part of the Republican master plan to piss off every voting bloc in the country except angry white guys and southern rednecks. So far, so good.

Well, since Obama won by 10 million votes, I guess it was 10 million.

God I love you guys! You are so predictable~

Independents aren't generally racists. And apparently Latinos have all the proof they need.
