Obama holding an 86% favor-ability among his Democratic Base, Romney struggling with a
67% favor-ability among his Republican base. This is proof that Romney is having a hard time appealing to the entire conservative base. Such a problem poses a large obstacle for Romney to rally the GOP base for a general election victory.

IMO, the GOP "needs" this hard beating they are about to take because they refuse to change their mode of thinking. Too bad because Romney is one of the better candidates the GOP has fielded in a while. I predict they will not only lose the election but they lose the house again too. It's hard to predict what will happen then.

While I do believe an Obama victory is inevitable....as long as he can explain to the American people in a logical, detailed manner that if they wish to return to the same GOP policies that brought us to the brink of economic disaster, mitt romney is their man. If they want to continue building on the current economic and job market progress, he is their man. This isn't a complex election, he needs to make people understand he is the only logical solution to the current candidate field. I don't think he is a prefect president but he sure isn't a horrible one either. He is balanced, which is exactly what a good president should be like. I do not believe democrats will take back the house, they may gain some seats but will by no means re-take control. I predict they will hold onto the senate by a few seats.

The GOP almost always votes party...and most certainly this time, so think of Romney getting 100% of republicans who show up (which is important in itself). The Dems rely on independent voters as well as everyone else who cannot stomach right leaning candidates.

More and more we see Obama gaining support with virtually everyone outside the GOP fold.

For myself, I may not think Obama is great...but his pretty good beats pathetic, or scary every time.
