Washington Caucus, 03 March 2012 Thread

I'm surprised Washington hasn't gotten more attention as of late. Isn't it the 2nd biggest primary/caucus state thus far?

It might be because only 3 days later almost 10 times as many delegates are up for grabs.

Romney is pretty solidly up so far, with a 12 % lead, ~ 12 % precincts reporting.

Romney won by 11 %.

Figure i bump this thread with something.

100% reported
----
Romney = 37.6% 19,111

Paul = 24.8% 12,594

Santorum = 23.8% 12,089

Gingrich = 10.3% 5,221

Im a bit mixed. At first I thought this was a good state for Paul to win but then the polls kept on showing him a distance third. So I excepted him to come in third, especially with Santorum riding high as the current not-romney. Also Paul getting little media buzz before the caucus compared to Romney & Santo.

So my gut feeling is that this is a positive. Maybe the media might call it a Paul "surge" and drop Santo like a bad habit. Ahh who am I kidding, it'll never happen :-/.

The amazing thing is that Paul managed to do that well against Romney, when Romney has something like 1000% of the funding, and Paul was being dismissed and derided by the popular press all the way through it. That's quite a draw for someone who isn't in establishment favor.

Seems that people in the GOP are very, very ready for serious change within the party.
