Missouri Primary: no delegates...it's complicated

Just like my relationships....

So, things sure are getting started. Wonder who's gonna come out on top.

:lamo

Aren't they all?

If there's one thing I've learned, my love life is a lot like life in Washington.

Lot's of fighting, weak comprimises, and someone always ends up hated.

I completely forgot Minnesota was a caucus.

What does "nonbinding" mean?

What does "nonbinding" mean?

Its the only way the Repubs could get anyone to commit to being a delegate: telling them they weren't actually bound to them. Who would want to be?

Re: Minnesota, Missouri, Coloroda 7Feb12 Thread

I caucused in '04 with the MNIP. Because it's a third party, it's kind of an excercise in futility.

Over 2000 came to see Paul speak today in MN.

Where you there?

Very very early returns has Santorum up in Minnesota and Missouri.

It's still too early to call for sure, but it looks like Santorum could very well take at least 2 of the states today. Seriously, I am done trying to guess how this election will go, it has yet to fail to surprise me.

Santorum is now up in all three states. In Minnesota, it looks like it will be Santorum, Paul, Romney, Gingrich.

Looks like the circus will go into encore....

The Missouri result is mostly meaningless. If he takes the other two, saying he won all three today would be the most value for it. No delegates being awarded in Missouri from todays vote.

Numbers:

Missouri

Santorum 54 %
Romney 25%
Paul 12%

Minnesota(12 % reporting)

Santorum 44%
Paul 27%
Romney 17%
Gingrich 12%

Colorado(1 % reporting)

Santorum 50%
Gingrich 21%
Romney 19%
Paul 10%

Its not worth wasting a lot of money. Larry Sabato calls it a "beauty contest.

Romney didn't waste much money in those states.

BTW the big money in SW Ohio is backing Romney. The Lindner and the Farmer families. (Cincinnati's two richest families). Part of the Lindner family-Carl 3rd-is hard core Bible thumper. Yet they are supporting the Mormon. Farmer is catholic-he's supporting Romney.

I live in Colorado. I think Ron Paul is hurt more by his supporters than anything else; someone graffitied "Ron Paul 2012" on the side a local building, something that doesn't usually get a very large sentiment in Conservatives.

The numbers are also probably gonna look pretty different once Denver is reported, which will probably be more for Romney and less for Santorum.

This bears repeating. Colorado numbers will change significantly.

Without a doubt. The southeast is a much more Social Conservative market than the metropolitan areas. I'd go as far as to say until Denver and Colorado Springs are reporting, then it's up for grabs by any candidate, even if Santorum maintains this level of support.
