Ronald Reagan's son endorses Gingrich

That's not surprising. I'm pretty sure Reagon's other son is for Obama.

I don't think it's significant. And I don't think Palin's endorsement was the cause of Gingrich's rise in SC. Super Pacs were the cause of Gingrich's rise there. The spending was outrageous.
I agree with this, but I have to ask... isn't that really a sad commentary on our society? I mean, we essentially respond to who says what most people want to hear at a given moment. It's like we have abdicated all responsibility to actually think and keep track.

Collective "we", of course.

Yep. It's sad.

Palin didn't actually endorse New. She wanted people to vote for him in order to stretch out the primary.

True, but that was more persuasive pitch that she made putting it that way.

So what?

You know why she encouraged people to vote for Newt in SC...why do you want to make it into something more than it is?

Problem is, Reagan's other son endorsed Lady Gaga.

Of course, I'll bet he loves women who wear only underwear all the time. Atheists.... :doh

Good one! :lamo

He left Yale just as I was getting there but the stories I heard about him were hilarious

Flamboyant was one term

Nancy Reagan's endorsement would mean more. But I hope this helps propel Newt a little. We need Newt to win in Florida!

The latest Wall Street Journal poll shows Obama beating Romney, but Romney is at least within striking distance. The same poll shows Obama absolutely crushing Gingrich. Now is not the time for Republicans to be pushing for ideological purity. If they want to win this year, then they are going to have to learn a little pragmatism. However, if the Republican party instead wants to commit suicide for the next 4 years, it's up to them. After all, this is a free country.

The Palin endorsement

I am quite certain she didn't sway any significant population, even within the tea party. The only ones that really cuddle her view is FOX and even there it seems they only use here when another guest doesn't show up or they can't book anyone else, flighty reservist that when she speaks if you listen you can hear a bell in the background, "dingy ding."

I think so...it's seems as if the new line of attack on Newt is that he wasn't "pro-Reagan" as he said he was.
Guess what, they took Newt's words completely out of context and forged videos to make him look like he was attacking Reagan. Limbaugh proved it today by reading the entire Congressional record speech from 1986. This is bad, and I doubt this is over. There's going to be hell to pay for this giant lie about Newt. He supported Reagan more than anyone else in Congress. If Newt can tie this lie to Romney, he's got him by the balls.

My first thought when I saw the title of the thread: "The good one or the bad one?"

I think it's definitely a feather in his cap. Don't know how much good it will do him in the long run (probably little), but at least he'll have a pretty cap.

I personally have always had a thing for purple velvet hats with lots of feathers and a wide broad rim. Subtle and sublime in an understated way.

Todd Palin did.

Newt's got some ringing endorsements here -- Todd Palin. Michael Reagan. Who's next, Jenna Bush? LaToya Jackson?
