Repulican/Conservative Posters Only Poll

Who Will YOU Vote for in the primaries?

  • Total voters
    42
  • Poll closed .
I haven't decided yet. At the moment I'm registered as a democrat, but since the democratic primary will be pointless, I'll more than likely vote in the Republican primary.

Im still a registered republican..I didnt vote in the poll because that is going to change right after the primary...I will be registered independent. I may very well vote in this primary and if I do it will be for romney

Please. American politics has always been nasty and divided.

I was born in 49 and have followed politics since the sixth grade and the JFK election. I was very active in electoral politics starting in the late Sixties. I cannot remember a time in my life when the two parties are as polarized as they are today.

I did teach government and history for thirty-three years and this period strongly reminds me of the 1850's where there was also a wide gulf between politicians.

I absolutely agree...I was born in 46 and never in my life has there been so much stonewalling and procrastination all for singular special interest groups...thats right, anyone that doesnt think the teaparty represents a special interest group is fooling themselves.

Who doesn't think they are a special interest groups? Similar to the Occupy Wall Street movement who fight for making America more leftist they want to push America towards the right.

Well between us we have over 125 years of experience so that takes us back to the 1880's.... more or less. ;)

I blame it on the libertatianization of the GOP and the growing strength and influence of such groups as ALEC, CATO, Heritage and others of that ilk.

Probably Romney. My main goal is getting Obama out and I think Romney can best do that.

That is in fact incorrect.

The cause of this is economic stagnation. If health care costs were kept down, and the economy grew like in the 50-60s, then there would never been such a government expansion, and those organizations wouldn't been fighting it.

One of the problems in America, is that America is just too big. There is no one size fit all solution for 300 million people. People in New England are very different from people in Texas. Right now the right and the left is not working to solve the country's problems. They are imposing their agenda on 50% of the country who want something else.

So that I completely understand your point, does the left bear no blame in the polorization in Washington? Does the work of Thinkprogress, Tides Foundation, etal not have an effect on the current situation?

Obama and the Dems have been so catastrophically bad that I will vote for whoever wins the nom. But, nobody has won me over enough to actually vote in the nomination.

I dont understand why anyone would vote for Romney, he is the Republican version of Obama. Can we really withstand another version of the same?

Honestly, there is not enough of a difference between the two parties anymore. The only difference I can see is that the Democrats want to drive us into a wall at 300 MPH and the Republicans want to do it at 200 MPH. Both want the same outcome, neither has our interests in mind and both disregard the Constitution regularly.

At least with Paul, you can be confident that he will do what he can to derail the present path of self destruction we are presently on.

I would make the leap that those on a site called "debatepolitics" have a higher political education than the average Joe. Or, if not education, more interest.

From what I've read in the past, this seems to be true across the GOP voters: Ron Paul has a higher percentage of the 'young' votes and the 'educated' votes. Nice poll, Red.

Add Homer Simpson to the list and I'll vote.

On the other hand, Paul has come out on top, so while younger is almost certainly true, more educated is possible, but smarter is rules out.

I don't that that an online poll is really very suggestive of real enthusiasm for Paul. In the 2008 election cycle, Paul enthusiasts seemed to be the loudest and most persistent online, but he didn't win the nomination then, and I'd be astonished if he did this time either.

He cooked his goose with conservatives, IMO, during last Thursday's debate. If there's going to be a legit third party, it may well rally around Dr. Paul, but I'd hate to see votes for him re-elect the current President.

There is no single savior in our current system of politics and government.

We have a severe systemic problem within both of these institutions. And Ron Paul has been a part of both those since 1976....lest you forget.

The answer will come on the day of the primaries as people change their mind quite often.

The way I look at it is this;
Paul is the Best choice for President than those other fools up there. he has the right ideas to halt in its tracks the run away train we call government.

If Paul doesnt get the nomination, the best thing that can happen IS Obama getting re-elected.

BECAUSE, all the hidden spending bills that have been slated to start in 2013 will come due. Any other President will get blamed for all that spending under his watch...spending already approved, but the general public is too stupid to understand this and will blame the new President. If Obama is left in there, he certainly wont stop his own spending. He has already spent more in 3 years than Bush had in 7.

As of now, if no additional spending is done in Congress and we stay on the plan as it is now, by 2016, our National Debt will be over $20T. Let Obama be the proud standard bearer of that flag. Just prepare yourselves for the crash that will also come.

I will proudly vote for whomever the Libertarian Party has to offer.
