Obama: "Unemployment could go to 8% or lower by Election Day"

who says its acceptable?

We don't see the Libbos shooting for 6%. Why is that? Waiting for all those unemployment bennies to create jobs? :rofl

Is there a pipeline between Venezuela and the US? The ME and the US?

no, and furthermore those regimes are hostile; both of those factors make the oil we receive from them less secure, thus making us more susceptible to political pressure from hostile regimes.

You think it would be cheaper to ship it to China?

that is certainly what the Canadians seem to think, as they are now planning on building the pipeline to the West to feed into China.

what an utterly boneheaded ****up. what an obvious gift from our friends whom we stupidly spurned. :doh even screwing up the SOFA with Iraq doesn't rate on this level of idiocy.

 although it's kind of ironic. the rest of the western world was soooo happy when Obama got elected :lamo: since then he's sold East Europe out to the Russians, insulted the Brits, pissed off the Canadians (for crying out loud, the Canadians), pissed off the Mexicans..... any others?

oh yeah. the Israelis. and he's put our growing relationship with India on halt in order to appease Pakistan.

When he called the Saudi government to tell them not to send tanks into Bahrain, they didn't even bother to call him back, they just went ahead and did it.

when even your client states think you are a joke...... yeah.

If you think the Canadians are going to build a pipeline under, over, or around the rocky mountains, I've got a mint condition bridge you'd really be interested in buying. Only traversed on Sundays by church going grandmothers.

As far as the Western world's feeling about Obama, he is infinitely more popular than Shrub ever was.

President Barack Obama’s approval ratings may have hit a new low in the United States this summer, but he’s still getting lots of Euro-love, according to a poll out Wednesday.
A full 75 percent of those surveyed in 12 European countries approved of Obama’s handling of “international policies,” according to the poll from Transatlantic Trends, a group that studies public opinion in the United States and the European Union.

Canadians aren't stupid. They aren't going to throw up their hands in despair and cry woe is us the US President is too boneheaded to let us build a pipeline sluicing our oil into his country. They're gonna sell it elsewhere.

As For That Bridge:

Canada Targets Asia Energy Sales After U.S. Pipeline Delay, Harper Says

Canada will make it a priority to increase energy exports to Asia following the U.S. decision to delay approval of TransCanada Corp.’s $7 billion Keystone XL pipeline, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said.

“This does underscore the necessity of Canada making sure that we’re able to access Asian markets for our energy products, and that will be an important priority of this government going forward,”..

The U.S. State Department said Nov. 10 it would delay a decision on Keystone XL to study an alternative route that would avoid environmentally sensitive areas in Nebraska. The 1,661- mile (2,673-kilometer) pipeline would deliver 700,000 barrels a day of crude from Alberta’s oil sands to the Gulf of Mexico by crossing Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.

Harper said that while he is “disappointed,” he remains optimistic that the project will proceed “because it makes eminent sense.”

“There has been extremely negative reaction to this decision in the United States, because this pipeline and this project is obviously what’s in the best interests, not just of the Canadian economy, but also the American economy,” the prime minister said...

Canadian Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said in an interview Nov. 10 in Honolulu that the Keystone XL project may not “survive” the delay. TransCanada Corp. (TRP) has said it is studying alternative routes in an attempt to salvage the pipeline.

The Keystone delay is the latest of several U.S. moves that have irked Canada, its partner in the largest two-way trade partnership in the world. Canada has objected to “Buy American” provisions in the Obama administration’s $447 billion jobs bill that has been blocked by Republicans in Congress, as well as the restoration of a $5.50 fee on Canadian travelers arriving in the U.S. by plane or ship.

Harper said such decisions were being made for “domestic political reasons” rather than animosity toward Canada. “This is simply the political season in the United States,” the prime minister said...

Isn't it sad when we think an 8% unemployment rate is acceptable? I hope on election day unemployment ticks up by 0.0001%, this being Obama and his administration staff
That is the "new" norm under BOnomics. A declining work force employment rate is a source of pride for the liberals that worship BO. When Bush was in office the lame stream media claimed the economy was in the crapper when the unemployment rate was around 5%. Now they are giddy over a 7 to 9% rate.

you have to wonder if he really thought we could have a European nanny state without a European unemployment rate.

Obama inherited a massive-Recession, the worst one since the 1930s, remember?

wrong...Obama did not inhert anything...he volunteered for it, and with a democratic controlled House and Senate for 2 1/2 years didnt do anything besides heallthcare that barley passed by back dooor deals and failed stimulous

The unemployment rate could drop to 2%...it all depends on how they add the numbers and how many more millions drop out of the employment picture or are no longer eligible for benefits since they have been out of work for so long.

It seems to me BO's primary objectives are to increase the number of people on welfare programs and lower the unemployment rate. He can achieve both objectives by causing more and more people to simply quit looking for work. This BOnomics #101.

Funny how republicans keep talking about Obama's "jobs killing policies" when in fact if you look at the numbers, the only negative job numbers are the public sector jobs which are done by republicans. The private sector has been carrying the employment numbers for more then a year now.

Granted the number can be much better but it is a straight lie to say that he is killing jobs.

If unemployment is less than 8% at the time of the election Republicans can't even hope to win the White House.

Republicans wont win the White House regardless but what is funny/pathetic is the number of people that dont care about what the actual figures are or that think an actual 8% rate is somehow an 'accomplishment' to be proud of.

Nope, the straight lie is claiming BO is creating jobs when the facts show he isn't. There are fewer people employed now than when he took office.

BO is underwater with virtually every demographic group other than blacks. If you think he will win re-election with his miserable record, you will disappointed. Even the worse republican is more qualified to be president than BO. The Country is sick and tired of BO and his hope and change garbage.

LOL you're funny man. I bet you can back up one of those comments.

He will win for a variety of reasons.
1-At the end of the day...most people vote party affiliation and at the end of the day dont really give a damn about records. they will justify anything...be it their vote for or against.
2-The Republicans have offered a lame 'choice' and at the end of the day, there isnt a dimes difference in the two parties.

I think the only way Obama loses is if his supporters are just too damned uninspired to vote for him. If it starts looking like that is the trend, you can expect a litany of race baiting attacks and threats starting around June/July of next year. If thats not enough, he will ExO illegal immigrants citizenship status and grant the right to vote. (that may happen earlier).

The Dude doesn't abide, man.

It is...and be honest...tell me you dont agree...with the understanding I said MOST...and thats universal...dem AND repub...or for that matter Libertarian and every other party group.

be honest...and remember...Santa KNOWS if you are lying or not...

and even if he disagrees...the dude still abides...

If the Republicans/Tea Party nominate someone other that Romney, they might as well write-off any chance of returning to the White House in 2012.

If unemployment falls below 8% the Democrats could regain the House, because America's voters have had enough of "gridlock" in Washington.

Except for your last sentence, you could be correct.

Being a lib means you don't get it. This Country has seen the devastation caused by BO. They know he doesn't have a plan to improve the economy. All he has to offer is more of the same old Keynesian crap that is doing nothing but rack up huge deficits to fund billions in crony payoffs. The weakest candidate in the republic party will smoke BO in 2012.

Funny how they're all trailing Obama in the polling now. :2rofll:

With his epic economic disaster of a record, Nixon's dentures could beat BO in 2012. :lamo
