You watch/listen to any candidate's political campaign ads and by the end you wonder where this wonderful person has been all your life. I mean, if you believe what they say, they are the magic bullet that will solve EVERY problem the country has. *Poof!*, and it will be done. Life will be rainbows and unicorns. Even their critics and opponents will be won over. :peace

And then you remember... you watch these ads every election, and nothing ever changes. :doh

Which is why our education system needs to be improved and we need to increase the number of college educated people in this country so we will become more academically centered rather than rhetoric centered.

The thing I note with campaign ads is how effective they are depends entirely on what you already believe. We already have people on this board crying that Obama is going negative, but praising negative attacks against Obama. Liberals who are praising every attack against conservative candidates. Truth rarely matters to people in ads, unless it is their guy getting attacked. That is the part that pisses me off. If you are against negative campaigning, be against it all the time. If you don't care about truth, then don't bitch when the other guy lies in an ad. And if you fact check an ad for one guy, do it for all.
