Herman Cain told members of his campaign staff on Tuesday that he was reassessing whether to proceed with his presidential campaign, an aide confirmed, a day after an Atlanta woman disclosed details of what she said was a 13-year affair with him.

but, but, but this amazingly successful business man with impeccable problem solving skills has books to sell
 
He was never a serious candidate, and it's ridiculous that people wanted to pretend otherwise (and even more ridiculous that some people supported his faux-candidacy). He never bothered reading up on any important issues, even at the peak of his popularity, and never showed any grasp of economic issues that he couldn't relate to 9-9-9. Says a lot about how terrible the GOP field is that he ever got more than 5% support.
 
The only thing on his mind now is what to do with the $$ in his campaign war chest. He's no doubt looking at what political donations he can make out of it (and how many) to assure himself multiple spots on some juicy corporate boards.

I wouldn't be surprised if he goes the Huckabee/Palin route of dropping out and then immediately picking up a show on Fox.

The whole wants to sell books accusation is retarded. This has cost him more than he will make from selling any books.

This does not mean he was not serious, only that he was not good at what he was doing.

Maybe he should apply some of those impeccable problem solving skills to the problem he has keeping his pecker to himself.

And that's the thing: Beyond forcing Cain to quit his candidacy--and if he is guilty of serial philandering, he vaults to my long list of those for whom I couldn't vote--the man has a family, an extremely loyal wife, kids, and grandkids who will all be hurt. Let's not assassinate his character in advance of proof that he's guilty as charged.

Nota I agree we shouldnt assisinate him or anyone else...but remember slick willy ? how about the WOMEN not being assinated when they ARE telling the truth...like all of willys gals...does anyone believe for a second that he didnt have an affair with Jennifer Flowers for all those years ?
I find it highly unlikely all these women are liars and where did that woman pull out the 13 yrs...out of her nose ? I think maybe some of the women that are called LIARS by these guys shouldnt have their characters assininated until its proven they are lieing

i dunno. the new lady smells pretty fishy to me. the lady has a history of (falsely) blackmailing men for money by claiming this kind of stuff, and has lost lawsuits for it. this looks to me like she needs money, and decided to stab Cain in the back for it. I could be wrong, but that's how it smells.

Irrespective, fortunately, his campaign is toast. if the woman IS lying, then I hope she get's her pants sued off after being publicly destroyed in the media in order to discredit the tactic.

well, in this particular womans' case, a court of law has already found her guilty of lying about this sort of thing.

People don't get tried in court for serial infidelity to prove they're innocent. That's unfortunate for them. But . . .

I havent seen that...I saw where a restraining order was taken out on her...not that she was convicted of anything
 
He's done now. Contributors aren't going to want to write a check when he may be dropping out.
 
I just read that he was changing his party affiliation to democrat and that his wife went on TV and claimed it was all just a left wing conspiracy theory to keep him down...
