How far out of touch is this guy, anyway?

So the high unemployment rate can be blamed on poor personal hygiene?

Ron Paul is the only canidate I see holding true to our founding principles. There is a reason he has more military contributions than all the other canidates combined. Fighting and living abroad is an education not offered in school. The troops know he is our man.

Don't get me wrong, I think military spending needs to be cut. It just surprises me that so many military and former military support him when he would return the favor by putting many of them out their ass.

Well, a lot of them would end up serving tables, or doing whatever, because there would be major troop reductions.

Absolutely! I have been in the military for 12 years. Believe me, there is a lot of wasteful spending. You can cut defense spending without cutting actual defense. The whole system is basically to prop up the "military industrial complex". We spend more on "defense" than all other countries combined.Do we plan on invading all of them?
Look, it's an indisputable fact that ever war since WWII is illegal by the Constitution. When we don't have a war to fight, the CIA creates or propogates one.
The war in Iraq should have never been started. There is about as much evidence that Bin Laden caused 9-11 as there is that Oswald killed Kennedy.
Truman, Eisenhower, and Kennedy tried to warn us, not to mention most our founding fathers, but sadly it falls on deaf ears.
And you wonder why we are $15 trillion in debt. We here is a big reason.
Do YOU realize that there are billions upon billions of dollars unaccounted for? Not even Congress knows what the CIA does with there vast budget, and for what? Everything they have ever done has come back to bite us in the ass. Trillions of dollars and they can't even stop one terrorist attack.
Restore the federal government to what it is suppose to be, not what it has become. Then you might see some true liberty, and a prosperous economy.
The notion that soldiers sign up for this crap, or 'knew what they were getting themselves into' is complete crap. The oath is to defend the Constitution, from enemies foreign and domestic. The problem starts here at home. Revolution begins at home, but sadly ends there too.
Again, there is a reason Ron Paul has 80% of the military vote.. and not because of war-mongering.

Well, you are preaching to the choir. :)

But I think you are being overly optimistic if you think that there wouldn't be major troop reductions under a Paul administration. As vile as they may seem, we have to support the military industrial complex to ensure that they are viable in the event of a major conflict. And their influence is not going to wane just because military spending is cut. You will have the MIC lobbyists pounding the pavement in Congress on one side, and who is going to be lobbying for the troops?

But I do agree with you anyway. Our military budget is out of control.

Newt Gingrich sucks! Gingrich has religious views that are at odds with separation of church and state. Gingrich has reckless foreign policy views that are at odds with keeping America safe. Gingrich comes across as a tempered, educated professor, but he hangs around with lying neocons, lying dominionists, etc. And he is a warmonger.

Having served in the military for 8 years, I know that the budget can be reduced without major troop reductions. I worked within many budgets (not on any of great scale) but enough to know how the military decides to spend the money. Billions are wasted on programs that end up being scrapped. All that money, gone and nothing to show for it.

Honestly, I don't care if he left his wife while she was dying of anything. How he plans on balancing the budget, getting our troops home, restoring the economy, that is what I care about.

When I ran that search I got 27,982 jobs in the Fort Worth Tx area alone.

New York: Jobs, Employment in New York, NY | Indeed.com has 150,453 jobs available...right now. That's just one website. That doesn't count signs in windows, labor agencies, etc.

No, it was a baldfaced strawman, as no one here argued that she was lying on her death bed.

She did have cancer. He was cheating on her. He did hassle her over the divorce while she was lying in a hospital bed recovering from surgery. He is a scumbag. I think that's the point.
