In the latest Pew Poll, Independents are fleeing Barack Obama and as political followers will tell you, independents hold the key to the 2012 elections

Pew poll: In matchup with Obama, Romney holds advantage among independent voters - Political Intelligence - A national political and campaign blog from The Boston Globe - Boston.com
and a majority of polls show obama winning by 2-6 points...so..your point is? we are still about a year out from election day, and the repubs have yet to choose a candidate....getting a little ahead of yourself?? helps obama too that the economy is gaining strength(something you don't want to admit, i know)

The point is there is no Republican Candidate selected yet and Obama is losing the Independent vote. When a Republican candidate is selected the other Republicans will support that candidate thus making Obama a one term President.

I wonder what it is about Obama that creates such loyalty. In less than three years Obama has taken our debt over our yearly GDP and yet that doesn't matter to people like you. Wonder why? You don't think the debt affects you? The economy gaining strength? It is being generated by the Federal Govt. not the private sector and that bill is going to come due. When inflation hits and the interest rates rise the debt burden is going to crush this economy, but that is ok to an Obama supporter, right?

cincinnati radio host bill cunningham would disagree with you, he is hard core repub/conservative, and believes that obama gets a second term..lol....i wonder what it is about conservatism that inspires such blind loyalty, all they have done is make you look foolish. (figured i'd beat you to the 'foolish' part of the debate, now that that has been dispensed with, the possibility, however slim, now exists for actual debate)

Independent voters will likely hold the key as to whether President Obama is re-elected or defeated. Another key, however, will be Democratic Party turnout. For example, in parts of Westchester County in which Republicans have made inroads e.g., winning the County Executive office in 2009, there was a large increase in Democratic Party turnout. As a result, Democrats accounted for more than 40% of the total vote in many Districts, even as this was an off-year election. The increased Democratic Party turnout dwarfed a modest rise in Republican turnout. One of the issues involved was whether unionized Couny workers should pay a share of their health coverage costs (currently they don't). There was a big get-out-the-vote drive by the CSEA (the union that represents the County's unionized workers). It's too soon to know how effective that effort was, but it was an element that wasn't present in 2009 when far fewer Democrats voted.

Nationwide, the unions are playing a more vocal role. Ultimately, promised beneifts (not just for pubic workers) cannot be sustained at the levels set forth. But that does not mean that there won't be a battle before reforms are ultimately adopted. For now, the unions are playing a role in trying to stem changes that would require beneficiaries to either take cuts in benefits, pay more for future benefits, or some combination of the two. Wisconsin and Ohio have been battlegrounds. Westchester County, which has voted for Republicans and Democrats, even with a trending increase in Democratic Party enrollement as a share of total registered voters, may offer some insight. If so, one cannot dismiss the possibility of an energized Democratic base in time for the 2012 election. If the economy is improving modestly or, at least has not deteriorated from the current situation, the enhanced role of unions might well make a marginal difference in tipping what would otherwise be a very close election somewhat in the President's favor.

For me, it's far too soon to make any such predictions. But what happened in Westchester County might offer some insight.

What is it about Obama that creates such loyalty? Would you support any Republican that generated the results Obama has generated in his first term? The blind loyalty you call it is for results, not rhetoric. Apparently you don't know the difference.

says the man who has voted multiple times for republican candidates who generate the same or worse results that he criticizes democrats for....you don't make much sense. put the (R) in front of the name, and those are the 'results' you are looking for. the only 'results' that matter to you

And what Republican candidate would that be? Were the results better in 2004 when Bush ran for re-election than they were when he took office? Results don't seem to matter to you as all that matters is what the candidate says. We have been over that "r" issue before but like with all issues you just run when challenged. You seem to have this problem of buying rhetoric and ignoring results. Better stick with that union of yours.

What is it about Obama that creates such loyalty? .

Do you really expect anyone to waste one moment of their time and energy to answer you........ yet again, and you either ignore the answer or dispute it because you chose to BELIEVE otherwise?

A few weeks ago you ran the same nonsense with your constant same question about liberalism and loyalty. And I wasted five minutes of my time and gave you a detailed answer which you simply opted to not believe and kept on asking the same silly question for your own benefit.

There is no point to it.

"you just run when challenged. " obviously referring to yourself with that line

So you just wasted more time responding the way you did and yet saying nothing. You do that a lot. You said nothing as you continue to ignore the Obama results. Results matter, not rhetoric, except to a true liberal that relies on other people being dependent to keep your job.

What is it in the Obama record that warrants re-election?

yawn... you asked this before and you were supplied with answers before and they did not good because you are not honestly going to listen to anything anyways.

You were given something like this months ago when you whined the same tired tune

As long as the Republicans nominate Romney, or better yet, the longshot, Huntsman, then Obama will most likely be a one term president. The problem is, he's a Mormon:shock:. He has to get past the religious nutters on the extreme fringe of the Republican party in order to get the nomination.

If the Republicans nominate Cain or Perry, then they will have a hard sell to the independent voters, and Obama will most likely get a second term.

Remember our bet?

Do you know what excuse Romney used for getting out of the race in 2008?

You seem to always look backwards when it comes to a Republican but not with Obama. Why did you vote for Obama in the first place with his background? Now you have actual results and will vote for him again. That says a lot about you

What link did you get that piece of BS from? Do you think that if Obama did what you posted that his approval ratings would be higher? Much of what you claim either didn't happen or were begun by Bush and none of it trumps the 25 plus million unemployed/under employed, 4.4 trillion added to the debt, declining labor force, rising misery index but apparently that doesn't matter to you. Notice a lot of intention to do this, authorized discussions to do that, ordered a review of this and that. Where are the concrete results that actually matter to the American people? You can fool some of the people all of the time and that would be the Obama base.

Independent voters are all over the map and not necessarily deeply conservative. If we want to look at how other candidates stack up against obama, we can refer to those specific polls instead of making the sort of assumption that you are making.

Included in that poll are the comparison between Romney and Obama along with the other candidates. Why would anyone vote for another 4 years of this bs? I have posted the results over and over again only to be ignored. Guess rhetoric always trumps results in the Obama world.

quite an impressive list, whether or not you want to give obama credit for anything(which you don't and won't, as he doesnt have an (R) next to his name. )

Why people do what they do is a question that often only they can answer. However, I think it is safe to say that people in general do not trust what conservative from debatepolitics.com has to say over their own beliefs and experiences. I imagine that the vast majority of people don't know or don't care who you are.

Also, from your article

By comparison, Obama holds double-digit leads over GOP candidates Rick Perry, Newt Gingrich, and Herman Cain.

So, I am curious how you predict that people who Obama has a double digit lead over will suddenly become front runners? Its not as if the polling was an either or question, candidates were matched against obama individually, meaning that a person being polled can like Gingrich, Romney, Parry, or whoever else as much as they want and not be forced to choose. Thus one candidate does not crowd out another.

For once....you are right....although I don't think they are "fleeing" to the extremes that you will claim. The reality though is, the ONLY GOP candidate that is going to get those votes is Romney. Good thing that the GOP remains stupid enough to go for one of the fringe candidates. I'm in the anyone but Romney camp myself.

LOL.....oh....the irony. Do you seriously not see the hypocracy in the stuff that you post?

Impressive in what way? Where are the actual results associated with those claims? Do you think that will resonate with the 25 million plus Americans unemployed, or the lost businesses, meager economic growth, rising misery index, and total lack of leadership? Results matter, not rhetoric. Don't tell me what you think you have done, tell me exactly what you have done.

LOL.....oh....the irony. Do you seriously not see the hypocracy in the stuff that you post?

I am waiting for you to post the Bush economic results in 2004, his re-election year, we had growing employment with more people working than when he took office and GDP growth of over 2.2 trillion dollars. Why would I vote for John Kerry with those kind of results? Guess thinking isn't a strong suit of yours
