Yeah. Obama's already voted out. Especially if this is the only thing they have in their bag. :lamo

At least that's what the president's advisers hope Americans who are frustrated by the economy and looking for someone to blame will remember when they vote next November.

His team is emphasizing the president's "regular guy" appeal, putting him in small-town diners, at roadside pit stops and on Jay Leno's couch. Those settings are designed to highlight his likeability, a political strength, even as the economy, a political weakness, sputters along a year before the 2012 election.

It got Bush jr elected in 2000 and in part re-elected in 2004.. soo.. and considering the GOP field out there, then Obama does not have to do much to get the "regular guy" appeal going.. basically he has to show up.

Its a valid strategy as Scott Brown partially got elected because he had good hair and owned a truck.

In my book it has been the folksy guy attitude that has made Herman Cain the hit he's been up to now.

I am sick to death of hearing about Obama, seeing him on TV 1oo times a day and listening to his next line of BS that is 100% political and have no basis in reality as all his ideas have been up to now.

Obama says what he has to to get to the next opportunity he gets to come up with new line he can come up with to last a few hours.

Just a regular guy.

I think Obama will be re-elected. Best, very best, Republicans can hope for is a majority in Congress. Then the President is pretty much superfluous.

The "regular guy" approach works better for people who aren't already in office. People who haven't yet shown us that they aren't regular guys after all.

It's a good thing that it's not the only thing they have in their bag.

1) He's a long, long way away from being a, "regular guy" and if that's what they're hanging their hopes of re-election, they're screwed.

2) What's he going to run on that is going to get him re-elected? I have serious doubts about, "more of the same", being a very effective platform.

Let's face it, the only chance Obama has, is if most non-Libbos stay home and don't vote.

What else do they have in their bag?

What's he going to say? "Yeah, I know I suck as president, but the Republicans suck worse"?

A solid re-election fund to pay for his campaign.

This will be the first presidential election in a long time, where the guy with that most jack won't get elected.

His likely opponent is Willard "Mitt" Romney and no one could warm up to him not even conservatives.

Now that is what you are deathly afraid of.

he'll play the "regular guy" routine when it's applicable.. the " academic guy" when applicable.. etc etc etc... he'll play to whatever crowd is in front of him

it's what politicians, actors, and other professional liars do.

They're hoping Romney will be the nominee, because he's only one that Obama has a any kind of chance at winning against.

Obama is not a regular guy. He's smarter and better educated than regular guys. I don't want regular guys running the country. I want people with the knowledge to do the job properly.

Since he's so smart, that can only mean he's running the country into the ground on purpose. Yes?

I agree and disagree with this. No, I do not want a truly "regular guy", but I don't want someone so detached, or so far removed from everyday life, that they have no clue what regular guys experience, either.

News Flash!: All presidential campaigns use this strategy!

Regular guys like Police and Firefighters have long been a stronghold of Republicanism. Not any more.

Yeah, Bobo is a "regular guy, ......... and I'm the ****ing Pope.
