By that logic, so is the United States flag.
I was going to mention the history behind the US flag, but why bother?

Maybe to brits but not to americans. To americans only the confederate flag is a sign of rebellion.
The Confederates didn't, "rebel". They seceeded. But, don't worry, I'm not going to confuse you with the facts.
The fact is the states cannot secede. Our constitution doesn't allow it. No one in the world recognized the CSA. It was a rebellion. An insurgency in our own country.
That's irrelevant. The fact is, the Confederates never had any intention of replacing the United States government; therefore, they didn't rebel.

I'm sorry, are you suggesting that CSA were not "rebels"?????????
there was no rebellion against the Federal govt.????
Rebellion, uprising or insurrection, is a refusal of obedience or order. It may, therefore, be seen as encompassing a range of behaviors aimed at destroying or replacing an established authority such as a government or a head of state.

No, they weren't and no, there wasn't. I'll say it again: At no time did the Confederates intend to overthrow, upset, overturn, replace, destroy, or abolish the United States government.
funny, lots of pro-Confederates call it a "rebellion"

I don't give a **** what anyone calls the Civil War, the south didn't rebel. They seceeded, so as to form their own government.
they sought to depose, remove, and replace the Federal govt. in the southern states.
so yes, it was very much a rebellion.

I think he is pulling a Mitt Romney. In other words he only believes that way because he wants to be president. If he was not running for president then he would not have a problem with confederate plates. To be honest, the issue of Confederate flags on license plates in Texas is an extremely controversial one. Some might call this a flip-flop on Perry's part, but I don't think so. I believe it's an honest change of mind. It happens to all of us. I have changed my mind on issues over the years, so I am not going to be a hypocrite and fault Perry for it. Also, for the record, although Perry has supported the Confederate flag in the past, he is not a racist, as some people like to claim. Most who support the Confederate flag are not racists either. As much as I dislike Perry, I am not going to go down THAT road. Whatever Perry may be (and I have called him a lot of things - LOL), a racist he is not.
Article is here.
No, they didn't. They sought to seceed from the United States and form their own government.
so you are just stating your own ignorant opinion?
that's fine.
No, they didn't. They sought to seceed from the United States and form their own government.
At least I know the difference between, "seccesion", and, "rebellion".
oh, they didn't seek to remove Federal authority from the southern states?
you are lying.
no, you clearly do not.
the South rebelled against Federal control & authority.

That is rebelling. By your own definition. Not even the southerners disagree with that assessment.
Anyone--north, or south--that doesn't disagree doesn't know jack **** about the history of the period.
You're going to have to stop with, "liar-liar-pants-on-fire", bull****. There's a very, very slim chance that I'm wrong, but I'm not lying.
I would ask you ro prove me wrong by producing primary source documentation proving that the Confederates intended to replace the government in Washington,....
