to note: Rommey and Perry are going to be split up for Rommey and Cain in seating since Perry slipped in the polls :-D

Are they sitting around that table?

Edit: yup. Seems pretty tight together.

started. First with Cain

Bachmann and Gingrich BS, meltdown caused by Frank and Dodd. lol

I love the feel of this debate. Some good jokes("I thought 999 was the price of a pizza"), and friendly atmosphere("Can I have a second here""yes").

I prefer the table :3

The Reagan clip just played. lol

I liked the table format. Here are vids for anyone whom missed it.

I'll post the rest as it is uploaded or if someone can find a full one video (something i dunno).

A bit of a mea culpa here. A month ago when Perry announced I was absolutely convinced he would win. Then the dabtes happened and it was easy to see there was nothing there. I have been absolutely stunned by how poorly he performed and especially how bad he comes off on TV. He makes Bush look like a member of Mensa.

That said, today was a very good day for Romney. First the Christie endorsement and now with what I would describe as the best debate performance this election cycle. To say he wiped the floor with the competition would not be an understatement. He looks compoised, extremely knowledgable, experienced, and in command like you would want to see a president. I think tonight was a turning point in the nomination. Nobody came close to Romney tonight. He is now in a league of his own.

My take:

Romney had another solid performance, acquitted himself rather nicely with all the RomneyCare attacks, displayed solid knowledge on the potential impact of Dodd-Frank, etc.

I'd consider Cain a "winner," but he definitely had a mixed performance, between the other candidates lambasting his 999 plan (Michele Bachmann: "It's a tax plan, not a jobs plan), and Ron Paul going off on him for endorsing Alan Greenspan. Overall though I think he did OK.

Rick Perry is really really really bad at debates. Didn't have a solid economic plan to present at a friggin' debate about the economy, just who among his staff thought that was a brilliant move?? I also sensed that he pulled a lot of Palins, i.e. deflected real questions and gave bull**** answers with empty rhetoric, usually going back to the subject of energy. I remember one point in the discussion where they were all talking about trade policy with China, and when it was Rick's turn to talk, he just went back to talking about jobs and energy, totally ignoring the topic at hand.

Michele Bachmann continues to have cringe-inducing moments, such as the "devil is in the details" line when she was attacking Herman Cain. God I just want someone to shut her up, everything she says from now on on TV needs to have the following disclaimer banner attached: "Not meant to be taken as actual truth."

Rick Santorum remains a dumbass.

Lastly, whatever happened to Gary Johnson?

good analysis 75 - I agree. Romney looks more and more like the obvious choice and nobody else seems strong enough to slow him let alone stop him. Perry is falling faster and farther than I would ever have thought possible in such a short time. Its like watching the Nazgul Morgul Lord at the end of RETURN OF HE KING where he gets stabbed by Eowyn and implodes to nothingness.

I partially agree - while Perry's debate performances have been exceedingly weak, the factors that made him a strong candidate six weeks ago still apply today. He's still "that guy" who can bring together Tea Party and establishment Republicans, despite the debate performances.

I agree, I would not rule Perry out of a comeback just yet.

I lost major respect for Cain for lying about his views on fed audits.

He constantly dismissed the need for them on record, and when asked point blank, he claims something different entirely.

I think Romney has to be called the winner last night. He did not do anything bad and looked like he belonged. Worst performance was probably Perry, mostly because he did not look like he belonged, but Bachmann(came off as insane), and Paul(had little time, used what time he did have attacking the fed instead of talking about something people care about) where nearly as bad. Cain did not do bad, but his "let them buy used" line is going to get used against him, and alot.
