If the Presidential Election was today, which pair would you vote for?

You did not ask me who I thought would win a debate, you asked me who I would vote for. I would not vote for any ticket with Cain on it(despite thinking highly of the man) as I feel he would be a detriment as president or VP.

That's fair.

How do you feel about Romney?

Im not happy with Obama's performance and any democrat who is being honest has to say the same thing...for me the big issue is ideology at this point
and as a long time moderate republican.. the teaparty is too far right and out of touch with us folks down here totally. Forget Libertarians the Ron Paul types I dont even consider to be honest.
So my choice cant be soley on Obama vs Romney...I have to consider what happens with an Obama and a Romney with a teaparty House and Senate...just what we need again clean sweep of all 3 offices...we saw what that did for us in the last congresss and a Teaparty trifecta would be WORSE for anyone thats a working person especially public workers we would pay a huge price...theyve already declared war on the working class and they only took congress and a few gov seats.
My choice is Obama at this point...that possibly could change..
I dont base my decisions on race or gender....I try to take into consideration as many factors as I can..obama vs cain...i choose obama

Where is the option for third party or none at all?

Wishy washy. He does not turn me off as totally as the rest of the republican field, but I have not yet seen reason to vote for him over Obama, who I also feel wishy washy over.

I'm a little "meh" on both. In the end I chose Romney, who has experience creating jobs in private business, and has government under his belt. Don't like Cain, but I never liked Joe Biden very much either.

That said, I probably just killed Romney's chances of getting the nod. I've only been able to vote for my first choice once (meaning out of all candidates), and that was to re-elect Clinton. Every other time, my numero uno choice crapped out in the primaries.

I'm willing to sell my vote for a contribution to DP.

We became a superpower eons ago. We've been on a downhill slide for awhile now, don't you think?
If by eons ago you mean 1945....then yes.........a default position as the only major industrial nation left intact. Instead of realizing at least some of it was luck and attitude......we seemed to believe that our superiourity would take care of itself without constant watch and repair........it didn't.

I'm probably not voting in 2012.

Vote your choice, whatever it may be. Especially if you vote your conscience. If it isn't for the prepicked candidate from either side of the Money Party (Republican or Democrat) write your vote in. Hell, that's all the better. For House and Senate vote against the incumbent. I've been doing that for years. People keep saying they want Congress to pass term limits. That's a lot of steaming caca. The People are the ones who decide. We don't need Congress to pass laws limiting their own terms, as if the bastards would. I vote term limits every election. I vote against the incumbent.

Send Congress THE message and Vote the Bastards Out.

Obama doesn't need my vote to win DC's three electors. And even if he did, the chances would be miniscule that my single vote would decide the outcome of the election. Ultimately voting just isn't worth my time.

If the rabid right hadn't scared me so bad, I might have considered voting for Romney. However, all the brinksmanship, lying, taunting each other and in-your-face tactics coupled with the lie-a-minute media machine - FoxNews - has frightened me away from voting for for the GOP. I will likely vote a straight partisan ticket in 2012 with one except - a GOP Senator that has not gone along with the GOP's antics.

Cain shouldn't be anywhere near a government office, and while Romney is the best of the Republican field, I would rather have Obama over him.

I'd bet a million bucks that Georgia's votes will go to the Republican nominee, but I'm still going to vote, makes no sense not to go and voice my opinion.

I can voice my opinion on here and elsewhere much better than I can by casting an anonymous ballot that would change Obama's vote total in DC from 210,403 to 210,404.

Where's the "bitch that your gonna move to Canada, but just end up venting on the Internet" option?

And if 50 thousand people think like you do and don't vote, then that is a serious number that could change things. If only they took the time to vote.

obama/biden without a question

Actually you'd need a lot more than that to swing DC to the Republican. ;)

But in any case, 50,000 people WON'T think like I do and decide not to vote. This is the fallacy of assuming that changing one's own behavior will cause a large group of others to change theirs as well. The marginal value of my vote (essentially nil) as less than the marginal cost to me (a few minutes of my time). If the only purpose is to express my political views anyway, there are other ways I can do that much more effectively and clearly.

I don't see that YS said anything like that (the bolded). I won't argue for her, but for myself, assuming that a significant number of people won't think like you is ridiculous. It's all over the media, blogs and forums.

I heard it tonight while listening to coverage of the Wall St. protests. Someone said they were looking for a far-left candidate and otherwise they wouldn't vote.

Great. With thinking like that, one might as well vote for who ever the Republicans finally agree to.

Obama / Biden over those two, for sure.

This will probably shock some people......

OBAMA/BIDEN. I would willingly choose the GREATER of the two Evils in this case, as a means of pistol-whipping the GOP for once again failing to nominate/support any form of CONSERVATISM.

Mellie defined my position on the first page. If America was ran like a business, it would be so much more efficient and better. It's hard to do. My dog Ronnie Reagan said that the best minds are not in government. If they were, business would steam them away.
