hes already taken blame...he said admitted yesterday that things have gotten worse since he became president
So he finally noticed. The kid is dense.

The problem with that is that congress doesn't have any balls to begin with.

No its becaue of stonewalling by both sides...mostly the teaparty... and with all the problems we have nothing NOTHING is getting done..and you cant blame obama the house will approve absolutely nothing

The 2012 election isn't about Bush. It's about Obama's inability to move the economy forward. What record will he run on? It's Bush's fault? That's the Obama legacy.
Who says that it is.....it still doesn't change the fact that it was Bush and the GOP's policies that drove this country into the ground. True, Obama hasn't been able to get us out of the mess and he will have to answer for that....but the GOP is going to not be able to get away with trying to distance themselves from the mess that they got us into. The question is going to be: "Do we turn the reins back over to the party that got us into the mess.....or do we continue with the party that hasn't been able to get us out of the mess". That is going to be a difficult question for America to answer....but don't be so quick to believe that they are going to want to hand the keys back to the party that drove us off the cliff in the first place.

That actually seemed to help, and by all nonpartisan analysis it did. It stopped unemployment from being even worse and caused decent economic growth. Notice that when the stimulus spending mostly stopped, job growth slowed and GDP growth dropped.

Non partisan = those who agree with you.

People thought they were voting for change. It turned out they were voting for more of the same, but it was campaigned as change. You are right that people are not going to be comfortable voting for going back to the party that got us into this mess, but equally uncomfortable voting for more of more of the same. Obama will have a very difficult campaign to get re-elected. He hasn't even tried to change anything. People are tired of the blame game from him and the dems in congress. The GOP has little to campaign on as well. The biggest message will be from either side is they are not the other side. 2012 is the perfect storm politically for a 3rd party to come in, and it is long overdue IMO.

:doh

meme fail. Obama held both houses for the majority of his administration thus far - and held the senate for a while so strongly it couldn't even be fillibustered.

Obama's "new" stimulus package jobs bill?

currently being stonewalled by Senate Democrats. Senate Republicans demanded a vote, and Harry Reid shot 'em down..... now why would he do that?

I wouldn't argue that the last government played a large role in it tanking. The current mess is Obama's.

precisely. Blame Bush (and a couple of his predecessors, and some people in Congress on both sides of the aisle) for the collapse.

blame Obama and the congressional Dems for the choking off of any recovery.

Funny how we weer having a semi-decent recovery, right up until republicans took over the house. I think the republicans in the house have as much if not more blame in the recovery stalling.

funny how we were doing just fine until the dems took over the house in 06...

The economy tanked because of the naked greed by Wall Street and the banks, what is the relevance for the Democrats taking the House 2006?

I would say that there are a number or reasons for the recession of 08 and the subsequent lack of a recovery thus far. Personally, the biggest reason I feel is fuel prices. No coincidence that when fuel prices spiked both times, things went from not so good to really bad... As to your question, about the same relevance to the GOP regaining the house last year. If it works for liberals to blame the GOP for a lack of recovery, then we conservatives can blame the dems for the recession.;)

I'm a young guy, and Bush was out right before I started caring about politics. What the heck did he do? How did he thrust the economy into such a tailspin that after two years under the messiah were still spinning?

1. A huge debt acquired through two wars (Afghanistan, Iraq) that accomplished virtually nothing
2. Tax cuts on the wealthiest Americans, increasing our deficit tremendously
3. Participated in financial deregulation that caused the recession (Reagan, Bush H.W., and Clinton all participated too)
4. Advocated "free trade" with other countries, something that encourages corporations to shut down their factories here and set up overseas because countries like China have way less regulation in regards to workers' rights and wages
5. The Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act, a piece of legislation designed to create larger profits in the healthcare industry. The pharmaceutical industry (big pharma) has spent more on lobbying than any other industry

What exactly has Obama done wrong except for things he hasn't done?

I made a campaign contribution to President Obama yesterday so I could get a free bumper sticker.

<hey> wait a minute.....

Really... does The Obama's apparent weakness in the polls surprise anyone?

You mean like.... continue or expaned all of the Bush programs/issues/policies/actions that He ran against in 2008?

If GWB was a terrible President because of those programs/issues/policies/actions, and you continue/expand those programs/issues/policies/actions, how can you expect to NOT be an even -more- terrible President?

Me too. I sent a quarter and asked to be put on the mailing list.

Next week, I'm going send another quarter affixed to a brick, with insufficient postage.

I have been saying excatly this. The longer Bush was president, the more progressive he became, and the worse this country's economy has done because of it. Obama has only advanced most of the Bush agenda, and the economy continues to do poorly. As much as Obama and the dems campaigned against and complained about the bush agenda, they then felt it was necessary to continue it to get us out of the mess that the agenda caused.

Oddly, they are still complaigning about the Bush agenda that they have adopted and expanded. Perhaps they should try something different.... Perhaps the GOP should as well.... I'm just sayin

Yeah ... except with a few national security exceptions, he didn't.
