Your continued elementary obtuse use of words to describe America as some overlord doesn't go without the reader having to roll his eyes. I'm guessing your use of "American backed" is a way to dismiss the validity of Iraq and pathetic attack on America, despite the very public uncorrupt manor in which the people voted for their own government. And since Spain and Britian took part in toppling Saddam Hussein, how about using the "British backed" or the "Spanish backed?" But that wouldn't meet with your tired themes would it? Since France saw no need to aid the Iraqi people until after Saddam was gone, but decided to drop a consulate building in after the deed was done...how about "French backed?"

Hell, how about dubbing the French government the "American backed French government?" After all, when 15,000 of the elderly died in France alone in 2004 due to summer heat, we can't assume that France makes decisions on its own. Or the "American backed Spanish government?" Japan is doing well so how about the "American backed Japanese government?" Or the "American backed German government?" Of course, one gets the feeling from you that governments that are beyond their social figurings out are not "American backed" or is it that Muslim governments simply don't have the capacity to govern themselves and therefore must always have master pulling the strings? Let's look at the hypocricy...

American backed Iraqi government - We are guilty of seeing their way to democracy so we are to blame for all that goes wrong and for any decision they make...but never any credit.

American backed Saudi government - We are guilty of supporting their existence and for doing business so we are to blame for all that goes wrong and for any decisions they make.

The Global Left speaks. To intervene or not to intervene...America gets to be guilty either way. At least intervening aids the region rather than pretending that there's nothing we can do for our own temporary illusions.

What are you even talking about? Are you aware that athletes under Saddam Hussein's son were tortured and murdered for not performing? That their families were constantly threatened if they didn't win games? This is why the Iraqi people chose the olympic building in Baghdad as a symbol of the Saddam Hussein regime and burned it. Oh, but your attempt to criticize their sporting organizations post Saddam is supposed to leave the reader with disgust isn't it? Somehow, the sporting environment under Saddam Hussein before those evil meddling American was just dandy right? You feeble compaint is about how they have had a hard time recovering into a legitimate sporting theme post thirty years of dictator abuse?

Instead of complaining that they are unable to create lasting sporting organizations post Saddam and are unable to play a game.....acknowledge the more extreme situation when they were tortured for losing them.
