I technically live in public housing, my building is owned by the Philadelphia Housing Authority. It's not a project, it's just owned by PHA through an urban renewal program that refurbishes old industrial buildings into apartments and then subsidizes the rent for a few years to develop the neighborhood. It's a great deal.
My building's PHA "manager", the closest thing I have to a landlord, is a bad, bad man.
He drives a very expensive car and is literally coated in expensive jewelry- but lives in public housing. And not urban renewal housing like I do, in PHA section 8 housing. The worst part is that he brags about it. |
